Hi, its me again! I've just had the letter from my GP with the results of the MRI. It say they found signs of no active inflammation but, signs of low grade changes in the sI joints and lumber spine. No treatment needed at present. Also a cyst on the left overy, for which he has arranged a pelvic ultrasound with Gynea. My GP has written to the Rheummy to say that I have no overies, but dosn't know if they will still want to do the test.

Everything is still all up in the air, I'm not quite sure what the 'low grade changes in my sacro illiac joints could mean. Is that something over and done with? An injury of some sort? I'll just have to be patient and wait and see when I go to the hospital. My GP infers in her letter and she told me when I saw her last week, that the hospital seem to have lost things in the switch from one department to another. She said the system sometimes, just can't cope!

Sorry to go on so much, its just all a muddle in my head as well as at the hospital. Love Sue

I think that low-grade means that there are changes but they are not, as yet, significant. It will be something they monitor in the future - well, perhaps you should ensure they do! Regarding the ovary, well, you assume that you have none but could they have left one behind? Errors do occur in surgery from time to time, having said that you do have a cyst in that area, perhaps it looks like an ovary! This is the trouble with doc reports - we ain't docs so we don't really understand what the terms mean. People are on the case for you woodbon, so try not to fret too much. Easier said than done, I know, and I think you have admitted elsewhere you can be a worrywort! Try to enjoy your week-end. DD

Hi, I know but my GP who wrote to me dosn't understand it either! I know that the joints in my hips are not as bad as they were, but my neck and shoulders are the problem know. Also I didn't feel very trustful of the consultant I saw and I know that a lot of people including medics don't think much of him. Oh well no point in worrying, I have to ring the hospital on Monday, my GP said as I should have had either an appointment or a report on the cyst.

I just feel fed up with all the medics and wish I could put it all behind me and go back to how I was a 5 years ago, but a lot of us would like to do that, I imagine!!! LOVE sUE

    Hi Sue :D

I don't blame you for feeling fed up :!: it's difficult enough to deal with test results at the best of times, but when they've not been explained it's bound to leave you feeling confused and anxious. :?

Hope you get some answers on Monday

meantime write down what you want to ask.... and be prepared to stick to your guns to get all your questions answered. :!:

let us know how you get on Sue. :?:

    (((hugs)))

    Hi Sue
I do understand what you mean, once you start with appointments there is no end to them.
Hopefully they can leave the cyst well alone, at least they keeping an eye on things.
Has for the changes, my GP says that everything has to be documented, I can see my file growing by the minute.
    Good Luck with ever-thing

    [Hi

I only know one thing - the sacro illiac is in the small of your back/sort of towards rear groing area...I know cos my mum hurt hers and she did it by dancing too much at an 80th birthday party (not hers)...

    Hi Sue,

I don't know if this will help and its from a long time ago....

The guy who did my decompression was on about acceptable degenerative changes at S1/S2 is an age thing.... and the design of humans by walking upright...... that might be the low grade changes? My guy said its common even in people my then age (28) he wasn't bothered too much about it. They lose their disc and join up naturally in time and maybe that's what this means?

Do you see the letter writer again at all? They might be able to tell you?

I know I had so many other problems that he dealt with that maybe he just said it was no big deal cus I wasn't coping too well but it makes sense to me at the same time..... they should just use a universal language and names eh? Be so much easier. Luv Cris xx

Hi Sue, if no one rates the consultant that you see, then I think you should ask for a referral to a different one.

If your GP doesn't under the letter then they need to contact the consultant for clarification. DD's interpretation of "low grade" is what mine would be.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Hello, thank you all for the replies. I think its right what you say, and think that I just feel a bit fed up with it. Also I have a lot of pain in my neck and shoulder at the moment and that makes me edgy and easily fed up! Sometimes it looks as if things are going the right way and answers are comming, then along comes something else. If I have't got appointments sorted in a few weeks my GP has asked me to go and see her for a chat about what the next move should be. I'm so lucky really, I'm supported by a caring GP. I am just slightly worried as I've had a lot of gyne problems in my life and thought they were over now! Funnily the last time I visited the hospital we were talking about someones baby and I said 'well, she'll be in that part' pointing to materity. I said 'Thats one bit I'll never visit.' Maybe I'm pregnant at 55 withoout overies and womb!!! So if you see a story in News of the World, you'll know who it is and I'll be a lot richer!!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hi, I spoke to the consultants sec today. She said that the consultant just took the radiologists advice about the cyst (which is usual, they are the experts), she is going to try and find out whether or not I will need a ultrasound scan. Its up to the gyneacologist and the radiologist to decide. I hope that things get sorted out!!!! Love Sue

Given your history of gynae problems I think you will be offered a scan - they have to see what it is, where it is really and what is going on, don't they? Far better than just to plunge in and scrabble about! Le tus know the outcome, please, and try not to fret. DD
