Hi
My friend, aged 86, has just been making me laugh.
She was in a large shopping centre yesterday, and sat down for a rest on one of those leather settees. A smart, good-looking man of about 70 came and sat down next to her, and struck up a conversation.
After the usual discussion about the weather, he began to make comments about my friend's appearance ( She is always very smartly dressed ) He told her that she looked nice, and he particularly liked her hair style. Then he tried to make a date with her, and it became obvious from his comments that his intentions weren't strictly honourable.
My friend beat a hasty retreat, but I have been teasing her ever since that she passed up a golden opportunity to acquire a toy-boy. We have had such a laugh about it, and we wonder whether the man ever has any success with ladies in the shopping centre.
But it just goes tio show that it's never too late :!:

What she didn't fancy a toy boy?, you would have thought at the ripe old age of 86 she would have been well up for a rumble with a wipper snapper of 70!. :oops:0

Not bad for an 86-year-old, is it :?:

I agree with nina! How utterly fabulous! Oh joanlawson, that has made me smile - Thank you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I think she was quite flattered really, but she did see the funny side.
The way she described it to me, it was straight from an Alan Bennett play. '' And he looked so respectable! He was wearing a nice tie,'' she said.0 -
One cannot beat Alan Bennett. That man knows how to write for women, especially the northern variety. Mr DD has a CD of AB's memoirs, absolutely compulsive listening on long journeys. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I agree about Alan Bennett. I like his joke about the Queen Mother visiting an old people's home and not being shown enough respect.
"Queen Mother: Don't you know who I am?
Nurse: No, dear, but if you go over and ask the lady at the desk she'll probably be able to tell you."0 -
