Hi all,
hope you might be having as good a day as me. Had my hospital appointment this morning, saw the registrar instead of consultant, was in there 30 mins and got examined and asked lots of questions, then he went to talk to consultant, I just knew he would come in so I gave him "the look" to let him know I wouldn't take any more rubbish treatment. Apparently I have fibromyalgia, but they didn't bother to tell me, so that could explain a lot, I'm going to get an isotope bone scan to see why my ESR keeps going up and down, it's 91 now, up from 67 on 23rd September and my ferritin is now only 16 down from 19 despite taking iron tablets. But the best thing of all is he's transferring me to a different doctor at a different hospital, I have seen her in the past so I know she's good. What a result, I am so happy. Just need to wait for a reply about my complaint.

Sue x

This is sounding more positive nansue, I am pleased for you. Inflammation markers do yo-yo, and if fibro is a factor that could explain why, perhaps. I am not well up on fibro, I need to do some homework! When do you hope to see this other doc, the one you like? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Well done Sue for standing your ground and not standing for any more nonsense!!!

At least you now have a diagnosis and a way forward.

Good luck with the next steps.

Hi Nanasue, that does sound a positive appointment. I hope your date with the other doc comes through soon.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
