Where heart and soul are at peace......

Hi All,

Places sometimes mean so much...... or so little I guess. They can conjure up memories so deep that you get inner peace or sheer fear

These two places are the keepers somehow of my heart and soul and every so often I really have to just go back and feel what ever it is I find in them.....

I don't know if this going to work, half the time I don't have a strong enough broadband width to test it but hopefully.....

see what you think...... but be careful I will defend!:lol::lol:

Hope your all getting a bit of rest up from this bone thing? Me well these may only be an hour away but had it not been for the fact it was the last guaranteed sunny day (and the first real one since last year) I wouldn't have been stupid enough to go.......

Somethings you are willing to pay the payback for... and next time I will go not so locked up cus I couldn't go down to her this time... its just too step

You all take care and if this is wrong who knows where you will end up :lol: xx

What a beautiful place is Cornwall. No wonder you like to go to your special places, the restoration of the soul is what we all need from time to time. I was expecting payback after Saturday and for the first time ever it failed to show. Hopefully, it will fail you too! What Cornwall does for you, Mersea (and Blakeney) do for me but I ain't clever enough to do what you did! Thank you skezier, that made a very good start to a very dull Tuesday. DD

Thank you Cris. So very uplifting.

You already know the part of our lovely Island that tears at my heart and soul. Northumberland........The Secret Kingdom, especially it`s magnificent coastline. Holy Island - Lindisfarne - the cradle of Christianity, truly is the most spiritual of places, and never fails to soothe the soul. Memories of times spent there sustain me, when daily living becomes too much.

Despite everyday suffering, you are one of the lucky people, able to see beyond your pain.........Much love, my friend.........Ange.x.

Hi Lynn, DD, Julie, Elizabeth, Berty, Annie, Rose and Ange,

Glad you liked it and today the sun is shining again so have the chicken on warning they are going in early tonight cus there is one sunset I should so like to try and catch...... Tisn't far from the Sheepsis but I can't go till the chicken are in, they can be difficult to round up.

Its a beautiful place...... even trashed it keeps its power

( I am skipping past the Lands End rant... Will pass on the second home issue as well :lol::lol: ) ((( )))’s to you all xx

Ange one of these days I am going back up country for a few days. The Northumberland coast line is one of the places on my list. You told me about it back along and have never forgotten.

Sending you a ((((( ))))) an a hope you will get to see your place again this next summer. xx

    Hi Berty,

These were 2 of the places I was telling you about. West really is the best and it isn't just cus I am West Cornish :lol::lol: (((( )))) xx

    Hi Rose,

Oh flower...... maybe I shouldn't have used the E word :lol: But they are in the true sense!!:lol::lol:

Its a good place to be if it gels with you, it clearly does gel with you. I had big plans yesterday but in the end couldn't get away from here till 4 and didn't have enough daylight left to really do what I should have liked to cus was chasing a sunset  It was so obvious it would be a good one.

Used to swim to the mount and back as a kid, my Nan used to take us there ..... now she had rants about the changing face of Cornwall I can only dream of :lol::lol: Saw it trashed by the Toricanion, still pockets of oil left if you look closely. Mind that was a step learning curve for the clean up cus she was the first......

I was planing to see the sun set over Wolf and Bishop lighthouse..... I am not saying anything :lol: Then well I always end up at Botalick...... Her sun set will do. She was wearing her best happy face yesterday. She doesn't always.

Where do you like the best? Me always the north coast in the west though from safe beaches point of view they are not so good. I love the long walk over to the Lanyan Quoit and the Men-a Tol..... which doesn't work by the way :lol::lol: But Madron, Gulver, Heamoor and even Newlyn and Penzance are home.

At a push I will be happy at Helston Penryn and Falmouth in the not being called back to the headland  ) Have you seen what they have done to Falmouth?! This just is so unsympathetic to the old its not right..... brick Rose, they are using brick!:lol::lol: There are tiles on the some of the roofs.... hell if I could get as much leniency here I would, sell it and buy Lands End :lol::lol: The day after there would be a fleet of demolition workers going in :lol::lol:

But then..... here would be trashed as well and that would be down to me. I hope you get back soon flower. ((( ))) xx

    Oh

Godrevy…. Isn’t she something? Sat and watched a blizzard there in the early year and it was incredible….. So was driving home…….

Nearly aimed for the sunset there but its not quite west enough for me deep down. Used to walk the dogs here but not this lad….. it’s a bit too dangerous for him as he would find the adits and workings too inviting….. He also might go off the cliffs…. But will wonder down today if I can get the chicken in

Cris that is so lovely, you are a very lucky lady to live in Cornwall, the first time we visited was 1979 we stayed in a caravan in Sticker village...I would love to know if it is still there...the site not the village that is.
Since then we have been around 10 times, but not for a while now, the drive may be a bit much
I am so glad you got to go hone, I can tell it has lifted you ,hope you are feeling okish.
    Lots of love

I've just seen this thread, and I really enjoyed watching the video. Cornwall is such a beautiful part of the country. No wonder it is the keeper of your heart and soul.

Hi Cris, thank you for sharing such beautiful images with us, yet another glimpse into your soul. I too come from the coast, the North East coast, it is wild and rugged but there is no where I'd rather be when my cobwebs need blowing away. The Northumberland coast is so beautiful, you would love it there, but I bet nowhere could compare to you beloved West Cornwall.

Thanks again Cris, hope you are well and sending healing hugs to you ((((((((((((())))))))))))))) xxxxxxxxxxxBrenda

Hi Tone, Barbara, Toni, Joan, Fayanne, Joan and Brenda

Tis a good place :D Glad you liked seeing it and its nice out of season.... in season its like bee's round a honey pot

Barbara there are at least 2 still in Sticker..... ones been there a long time and I wonder if that's the one you mean? Hey the feed store is there as well so I don't want it disappear either :lol: xx

    Hi Toni,

If you come down again for a few days we should go there... and other places as well...... all I ever d to you lot is make you work :lol::lol:  Which reminds me...... you need to bring your wellies again :lol: xx

Not a cloud in site today so I kinda thinking I should go do the horses water, they are actually waiting for me, then get loaded up with local cus at least that bit does work and go see if I can go again and get right down to the engine houses :D 250+ steps as I remember..... Both my GG, Great and Grandfather all started work down that mine as kids, two at 9 and one doing surface work by 7....... Maybe that's what it is for me? My people suffered there :lol:

My Grandfather called it the place of nightmares... he wasn't a miner, the tell me I might have been cus I went down one before she closed with a mate on the maintenance shift....... they are absolutely incredible with bits of quarts and glittering bits in the corners :lol: Best of all they are really warm :lol::lol: Just you can't help wondering just how good the old beam engine is as all this water is a bit disconcerting :lol: xx

    Hi Rose,

That's some list flower but here 'just' for you.....

I did try and get closer but I will not that money out of season for parking for half an hour......

More expensive than Lands End, but not as trashed! Did think of you a bit but there were no seals, lot of surfers though and the weather today...... well you can see it wasn't at its best! xx

    http://s1011.photobucket.com/albums/af237/skezier/?action=view&current=Minesbeachesandcliffs.mp4

    Oh Lynn,

My lot were all miners, farmers or fishermen...... They had it rough as well on Mothers side. My father's side had money......

I love the surface works that are left behind but this one above, well she wasn't like the other one...... they tried to make her good but the load wasn't there. She isn't that old, (I think round the 1870's) and none of my people worked it as they were much further down.

They used to say 'Out of the world and across to St Ives' cus the West ones produced so much more than any of the others..... often at less price in terms of deaths.

Family trees eh? They can be some interesting... and its good to know.... I have followed the Cornish side to a tee :lol::lol: (((( )))) xx

My most favour place is the sea/the coast. It si the only place that i truly feel relaxed and at my best. Used the sea to help me overcome my fear of needles/mediation cd....worth all the £9.99 it cost (had to do this because of treatment i was having over 5/6 months.)
The smell, feel of the breeze/wind on your skin, the sound of the sea crashing on the beach and the vast open space make you realise how small you are in the bigger scheme of things... One day i will live by the sea ...when i win the B....y lottery :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Hi Rose,

It was very iffy weather ..... least it didn't rain and be honest it was better than e had most of the summer

I will go back down there on a sunny day and re-do it flower. Didn't get to Watergate but reckoned Wheal Coats would do :lol:

Yep been there and don't they do a good job? They hopefully wont be too busy this year but the storms are not far off now I guess but you never know eh? Long s they are big enough and feed enough.

I love seals... best chicken players out there :lol: We used to live for a bit in a house right on one of the good south beaches and a seal had her cub in one of the caves...... watched that one grow up for a while till she go worried by the number of visitors...... she actually hauled out on the beach and well i was all too much for her and the following day she was gone......with the cub of curse.....

Hope your doing ok there? ((( ))) xx

    Hi Trish,

You can't get the real ones north of the Tamma :lol:

There are the best pasties now in one of the supermarkets and being some what of conisuer in these things they are the best and almost as good as home made

We like them laced with pepper...... may be that’s what made it hot for him cus the real ones are real!:lol: Those things that are mass produced and sent up country.... well they can't sell them much this way :lol:

Horrible examples actually..... even the pastry... well I did say I was a bit of conisure.....:lol: xx

    Hi Lupin,

Your right the sea has a sound of its own. I like hearing it but its 6 miles or so to the nearest beach so I am not by it as such.... get the sea gull though

Actually excluding FMD outbreaks I don't mind the gulls...... one of my dogs loves them and will spend ages trying to catch them! Got juvenileness still being feed by the parents just now... makes it a bit interesting though cus they do dive at you....

Hope you had a good birthday? Sorry I was so late. Cris xx

Oh Trish did you try saffron or hevva?

    Hi Cris,

That must have been amazing to live right by the sea and to watch the seal and pup :D Where abouts were you? I would love to live right by the sea it has been a dream of mine, may be because i am a water sign? :?
I sort of enjoyed the sanctaury as in to see the seals and how they are looked after etc but you get sad too as there are some real sad stories
