i was asked how the pain in my pain was in the
bone at the back of my hip because i still have the pain and the tablets dont work i had to have a xray on it and on my foot as well.
i have to have a cortizone injection in my back and i have to see a docter about my foot as i have arther in the small bones of my foot and it will get worse so i have to have something done but as they only do hip and knee surgery so i have to wait now for the app.

    Hi Joan

A lot to take in from your hossie appointment. :!:

Did they give you the steroid injection this morning...or do you have to go back for that and the results of the x rays?

I do hope you don't have long to wait before seeing someone about your sore feet. will that be a different hospital or just a different consultant?

    sorry... too many questions!

meanwhile I hope you've got some additional pain relief Joan.X

Oh dachshund, what a lot to sort! I hope that all the various appointments come thro soon and that you get the injection in the very near future. Are you keeping up to date with your exercises? DD

I am pleased you are still exercising, dachshund, I hope your muscles are feeling the benefits! I have heard the term secondary arthritis, and like you I am not sure what it means. I will have a look thro my books and see if they can shed any light for us. I will get back to you on that. DD

    Hello Joan
I am so sorry the higher meds are not working, this Arthur really dose sneak up on us.
Like I keep saying I cant understand why OA can spread, when I ask I am given different answers.
Joan at least you are getting something positive done.
I hope the appointments are not to long away, you take care of yourself, and try and enjoy this good weather with your little dog.

I have checked. Secondary arthritis is the term given to an arthritis that develops after an injury. Does that make sense in your case, dachshund? Have you hurt where this problem is situated? DD

    Hello Joan,

Wow that is a lot to take in. Hope you hear something soon as you need to be able to reduce your pain. I suppose they will need to get all the information together to decide the best way to proceed for you. I take it that you have to go back to get the injection?

    Hi Joan,

hope you have jab soon and it helps. Will you see foot doc at your local hospital or do you have to go elsewhere?

    Speedy
I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
