Hiya. I'm still resting but will probably need to go to work tomorrow. Friend and her Mum are taking me out for tea tonight with door to door chauffeuring service!

Foot's strangely cold and feels lumpier than usual on the sole.

Posted a big weepy moan on the working with arthritis page. Sometimes you just have to let it all out.

    Good luck, Joan!

I thought they'd x-ray my toe before assaulting it with the needle, but I got the injection straight away at the clinic.

Hope they prepare you properly for it and give you instructions on how to look after yourself!

Hiya, thanks for checking in on me. I got through work.

My foot is now on fire. Well, it feels like it's on fire after I did a bit of walking. Took me twenty minutes to walk to the chemist for my prescription. It usually takes five. (When I was on holiday last month I was walking about 4 hours a day). I rested with my feet up after dinner for a couple of hours and now I'm going to go out. I'm going to have to get taxis though and I never do that unless it's I'm out really late! Bus all the way!

At least it's a sit down gig I'm going to. I hope it is anyway!

Hoping my poor foot is better soon.

This is really getting me down now. I want my foot back, arthritis pain and all. I am used to walking about an hour a day every day at least and it's only when I regularly walk more than this that my foot flares up properly. I have pins and needles and numbness in my big toe, my gait is completely wonky (walking on the outside of my foot) and I'm going to have to take my crutch out with me again today.

I'm starting to worry that something has gone wrong.

Returning to an old topic: My foot never recovered from the steroid injection and my toe is properly on fire again after a longish walk at the weekend. I have an ice pack on it, but it's not really helping.

    Really fed up.

    Hi donnas

Sorry to hear about your toe.

Have you had it x-rayed recently? I am wondering if the joint has deteriorated further ...

I used to have severe pain in my left big toe but it fused by itself and thst seemed to sort out the pain!

I'm thinking the same. My right big toe has a huge ridge on the forefoot, which isn't there on the left. A podiatrist (when treating me for in ingrown toenail) mentioned a condition where the pain will go away due to eventual fusion in passing but she wasn't very interested as she'd been asked to treat my toe as a favour after I had my toenail removed elsewhere. I think I need to get it looked at again. I hate having to get the bus to work, but I can't walk the mile and a half every day with this pain.

    Hi donna
I think it would be a good idea to request an xray as marion suggested.

sorry that it is causing so much grief, I can understand how painful it must be.
Hope you can get it sorted soon.
    Take care
