Yesterday I was reminded how kind and thoughtful some people can be even though they are having to deal with a different kind of pain ....
My dear old Auntie lost her husband and her twin brother over the last year or so and yet she took the time and care to make me a card of Marilyn Monroe and enclose a cheque for me to treat myself.
By having my illness I have felt let down by some people I thought would remain close HOWEVER have been very pleasantly surprised at the support and thoughtfulness I have received from family and friends I rarely have seen over recent years. These are the people I cannot thank enough and for my Auntie to do this made me smile and cry.
The card is already framed and hanging on the wall pride of place.
Thankyou so much, my Auntie.
Carol xx

I'm having a blubby day today, you have set me off again but this time for a good reason! How lovely of her to go to such an effort when she must be pretty low herself: thinking of others can take one's mind of things, I think your auntie sounds a real sweetie, but then she's related to you! DD

    Oh Carol

    how LOVELY :D

What a wonderful and thoughtful thing to do - interestingly it tells me a lot about you too - that someone took the time to do that for you is testament to your own self.

You enjoy it - you deserve it :D

    Love

    Aw, thankyou DD and Toni.

I posted a message for you DD on a previous thread.

Hope all our tears release toxic painful thoughts and leave a bundle of hope and smiles on our sandy beaches.

Carol, from your posts. I would say that you are most deserving of the special treat from Auntie. I would bet money that you have been there for her, during her bad times.

When you lose someone very precious, it makes you more discerning with regard to the people that you want to be close to. Believe me, I know. They become even more special to you. You are obviously one of her special people.

Let us know what you spend your pennies on!...........Ange.x.

Thank you for your fab words, Ange - makes me smile

I have already spent her pressie money ..... I hobbled out and about and bought a beautiful frame for the card. Have hung it up on the wall opposite my bedroom door in the hallway so when I got up this morning and toddled through to take my pills I was beaming from ear to ear looking at it
