I don't know whether I heard this right. On the BBC news this morning they were talking about cuts.They seemed to be putting hip replacements in the same category as IVF.We can save money by postponing these until the next financial year.Having just had a total hip replacement here in Spain via the public health system 6 weeks after seeing the consultant,I think that equating the wait for a child compared to the agonising pain of a wrecked hip a a bit flawed to say the least.Any comments :(

    I know. It's what happened last time under this lot. I remember my mother waiting 18 months for a knee replacement and by the time she got it her ankle was gone, ditto her muscles and she never really walked properly again. They don't seem to think extreme pain and lack of mobility is a problem.

    If this is true Tony, then it just confirms that Arthritis in general, and joint re-placement, in particular, are still considered to be of little importance, by those who have never suffered from the disease. It will set Arthritis education back decades........Ange.
