I never peel potatoes and if they are mashed with their skins on they tastle pretty fab.
You can buy machines that peel potatoes just like the ones for commercial kitchens but smaller.0 -
We don’t peel potatoes any more as I can’t hold them due to the arthritis and I also have a bad skin reaction to the wet starch and I think of it as a positive in the extra roughage – Jacket potatoes, wedges, boiled scrubbed new pots or mash with skin all avoid the need for this but otherwise I use my husband....(see chit chat classifieds post, i’m currently offering him free to a good home  )
But on a serious note google doability; they sell a potato holder but I don’t know how good it is

Hi..... Carol got there before me, I know you can get the machines that peel them, the trouble is you have to peel quite a few at once.
They cost around £30.

I bought those purple tatties for the first time today.
Cannae wait to see them mashed up
Wonder what they'd look like with mashed sweet potato or carrots .... or am I taking it too far?0 -
Ive seen someone peel their potatoes after they have been boiled, apparently its much easier and then just warm them up when needed ~ might work i s'pose0

Hi Paulch
There used to be something available through OT almost a chopping board with spikes/nails popping up through it easy enough to get someone to make one up for you if you know anyone.....use it with the dycem material underneath it stab the potato onto it and you can peel one handed or with little effort.
Hope this is of use good luck...happy peeling!

Yes good point Dippydoodah. They peel off really easily that way. Just a bit hot to touch but you can wait a min or two for them to cool.

If someone is having digestive problems Potato skins cause pain and irritation.......so skins are not always good!
I certainly can't tolerate them.0 -
