Hi everyone hope we are all in reasonably good form today - i have OA and being the caring and sharing type i gave it to my kids - they are not very grateful- daughter 22 had my dodgy knees, son 19 has my dodgy knees (the little buggers keep giving them back though) and my 13 year old daughter, her jaw, according to the dentist moves to the right whenever she opens it and one side keeps dislocating- i did wonder as it is joint if it could be related to the family OA or just a weird coinsidence but i have never heard about it till reading your posts. it is similiar? :?:

Hi Rileytra,
It just not fair is it?! I don't know if its connected but I do think it might be an idea to get your gp to check it out and possibly refer her to the orthos?
I am sorry I don't know the answer but hope you can get some help. Nice to meet you. Cris x0 -
Hi cris strange that just been reading your posts as you were reading mine spooky! she is due to see the surgeon soon but the NHS works in its mysterious and slow ways - but at least now i can mention it to whoever as a possible cause ....0

Hi Ryelta (sp)
I have had arthritis in my jaw and it got stuck shut earlier this year, (not OA in my case), but lots of us on here have had it too. You can look back through the posts on this thread to see it easily Also can google TMJ ( I think  )
I hope she gets sorted soon as one of the lasses on here has been in the system with her jaw issues for a year or two at least
Love

Hiya,
Ever since I can remember, I've had things going on with my jaw that people ( and dentists) just thought were weird. I could dislocate my jaw and then click it back into place. I also for years have terrible crunching-so loud that I'm sure people sitting next to me must be able to hear it. It now cracks loudly too and that can be heard by other people. I also grind my teeth which I've been aware of for over 10yrs. I have been having real problems with my jaw for over 3yrs now. I've been diagnosed with TMJ and OA in each side of my jaw. If I can help you and your daughter in any way please feel free to contact me. I'm still finding out things though so I don't yet know what if anything will be done. I'd maybe take her to her dentist and explain your worries and suggest an x-ray to be done. My dentist was lovely and it was her that got me help with consultants. No-one in my family has had this either. Hope this helps,
