    Lavender Lady,

I'm sorry that you are feeling so poorly with your feet. :( I have no solution, only hugs. ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

Someone will be along shortly with a helpful bit of advice I'm sure. :D

    Hi Lavenderlady,
You are having a bad time of it. I know you have properly tried most things. I can only suggest bathing them is salt water then applying anti-inflam gel. Sorry I’m not much help to you. Can you get an emergency appointment at the podiatrist?

Hi Lavender lady - they sound excruciating.

I agree with Ironic - worth trying max strength iboprufen/voltarol gel.

You mention the cooler weather - if that is making them worse -then thicker socks/tights or thermal ones might help or sheep skin insoles

Do you have sticks/crutches so you are bearing less weight?

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

cannot take inbruprofen ( stomach ulcers) I use dehydrocodeine, for moderate pain relief but dont want to rely on tramadol which helps better but knocks me out, I have got a stick a folding one but feel as I need to cope with out I know I'm an idiot
I do use socks and try my best to keep my feet warm i even wear bed socks, but the pain is excrutiating, I see the chiropodist every 6 weeks for diabetes and they often comment on how bad my toes are, but dont seem to get any further then that, will get my TWR op done then go all out to get my toes sorted, thanks for your advice much appreciated 8)

Hi Lavender lady - check with pharmacist as I might be wrong, but I was under the impression that gel applied locally is a lot safer - as it doesn't go to or effect the stomach.

You really should consider using sticks/crutches more - no point barely being able to walk and not using one. You need it on the opposite side of the painful foot - and if (as I suspect both feet are sore) you need two - one on each side. PLEASE give it try.

    hi lavenderlady

i have oa in my toes and problems with the rest of my feet and the cold is agony, i bought sock liners from the walking shop, they are thin and you wear them under a thicker sock but they help keep your feet warm, worth a try, most hiking shops will have them.

i hope you find something that helps soon, painful feet are horendous to deal with

I have stomach ulcers too. Try to use your stick if it helps you move about a little. I'm going to use my crutch today to see if I can take the weight off a little.

Hope you feel a little better soon, and if not, better able to cope.
