    Hi lavenderlady :D

sorry you've got this to add to what you already have.

I've had arther flare in my jaw in the past and I know there are others on the forum who have had the same...

when it flares it can be painful and difficult to open my mouth and talking becomes difficult too. (some would day that's no bad thing though  ) I find heat helps (hot water bottle).

I've not had this recently though and others will be able to offer more advice I'm sure....

There have been threads about this before.. If I can find one I'll bump it up for you.

hope your heart scan was ok? and that your preparations for the op are working out for you...

    Hiya,
I'm sorry you're feeling low. I have OA in my jaw but also TMJ (Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction) and both can give the symptoms you're describing. It's taken several consultants over 3yrs to come up with this. I would let your rhuemy know and maybe get an x-ray. I do hope it doesn't show up with anything though.
    Take care,
    Magenta x

hi Iris yes finally got my scan results and its fine apparently there is a part of me that works properly lol, big relief though but still keep getting breathless very easily ( any ideas now its not my heart) seems my OA is taking me over I think my jaw must be the only joint not been x rayed , and I know its probably OA this past 2 years has been horrendous for me with health issues mainly OA although more then one Dr has mentioned it may be other forms of arther to go along with my OA,
am getting bits and pieces sorted ready for my op on 2nd Nov. my gorgouse 6 year old Grandaughter also has GOSH ( Great Ormond street ) about her health issues shes got juvanile arther as well as kidney problems so I am being very brave as we made a pact we would be thinking of each other that day, bless her ,
right now my toes jaw and wrist and hands are at their worst trying to be strong but this damn illness/disease is really taking me over , my right knee has got a real deformed joint yet doesnt hurt me much xrays showed that and my right hip will probably need an op in the near future yet my knees not too bad pain wise but looks awlful :?

    Hi Lavendarlady

    Sympathy from me too

My jaw 'went' after weeks of pain earlier this year and it was very painful and scary - it then got stuck shut and i was dribbling  and slurring my speech too

I do hop it settle - you have ENOUGH to worry about.

    Love

    Toni xx

I have several flares on my jaws and they are painful. Try to keep your lips moist as for some reason you always want to lick them and it can be uncomfortable. If the pain gets to much try and get some stronger pain killer just till it settles. I do know how you are feeling and hope it clears quickly.

thanks for your advice one of my meds makes me thirsty all the time ( diabetic) and I carry a dry mouth spray with me , but am taking dehydrocodeine for it, my mina pain right now is my toes I can hardly walk at the best of times but its excrutiating and will be needing my stick soon am seeing DR tomorrow, was told my heart scans were fine but will see what Dr says tomorrow as I still get quite breathless, does anyone else get breathless even having a shower makes me breathless ???? wierd, I'm a little over weight but not hughly over weight, so we shall see tomorrow
