Alcohol may reduce risk of arthritis

By Danny Buckland 19/10/2010
Having a few drinks a week could slash the risk of rheumatoid arthritis.
Those who keep off booze are four times more likely to get the disease than those drinking two or three times a week, a study found.
Drink also helps to ease symptoms - thought to be because it is an anti-inflammatory and mild pain killer.
Researchers from Sheffield University and Sheffield Teaching Hospital said: "The results do suggest alcohol may modify the disease."

I know Joseph. I just cannot drink much at all. So why did I buy 6 bottles of red last month, I ask.
I have to keep the amount I drink down in any case because of the old liver and MTX. I think I have lost my taste for wine now. shame.
