Hi every one I hope you are not having too much pain,
I wonder if any one could give me advise on this,
Tuesday I went for appointment at the hospital for my eyes, because I suffer from pressure behind the eyes,I thought it was to see a specialist
but it wasn't it was for another field test, then to be referred to see specialist in a few weeks. On Tuesday my right eye felt strange & when I looked into the mirror it was bloodshot, I didn't say anything to the nurse at the hospital,Yesterday it didn't get any worse, then in the night I couldn't
sleep & had the same feeling with my eye, I didn't take much notice but getting up this morning my eye is worse than ever, I wondered if any one else suffers with this.

I have also received a letter from my rheumy passed on from my doctor
saying he wants to do SCAT,ANA, &anti-CCP tests can anyone explain what they are Sue x

    Oh Sue,

You can't mess with eyes and gp's are rubbish... you need eye cas and if he doesn't take you we will be up!

It could be the meds, it could be blood pressure it could be nothing but it needed looking at but with the headache flower you need them to just check it out.

I am sorry its so never ending flower and I so hope you soon feel a bit better. Go lie down and mine always hurt less with heat on them..... mine are also inclined to go bloodshot but they really only specialize in visual disturbances and fog. Take it easy today and maybe they will be able to help you quickly over this cus it might be something very simple.

Sending you a ton of support and ((( )))'s. Love Cris xx

    Hi Sue,

You might be ok by tomorrow cus they could do a quick fix? They sometimes can. Try heat on them or cold on them and just take it easy. Mine don't move about too well when they go off on one so I tend to rest them as well.

Got my fingers crossed for you flower. ((((( ))))) and hopes Cris xx

I though SCAT was the School and College Ability Test (a school test in the USA) but i'm guessing it has another meaning here or does he mean SGOT which is a test to see how your liver is working
ANA = Anti Nuclear Antibodies test - is used to screen for Auto immune diseases particularly Lupus but all auto immune diseases are included
anti - CCP = anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody test - is used to screen for Rheaumatoid arthritis, approximately 95% of patients with a positive CCP will have or develop RA in the future
but you can also have RA without having a positive test

These are some of the myriad of tests available to screen for auto immune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis/ lupus etc and they are confusing because there isn’t 1 definitive test that says yes you’ve got it or no you haven’t (sorry), so they just help doctors to understand what may be going on

    hope that helps

Hi, You need the hospital. My sister had something similar and went to her GP, who sent her straight to the hospital. Don't worry too much, hers was fine after a few days and drops, but they did tests. So go to the hospital and take your eye, don't leave it at home!!! Oh I'm so witty, well, at least my husband says I'm half way there!!!  Love Sue

    hi :)
    did they do your bp
all the tests are arthritus related which is good. i have arthritis of the eye which makes them dry and sore and red, but burst veigns can be bp.
i had this last year a few times. i had overhall by my daughter whos ambulance tech and a paramedic, veign burst in my eye a few times,
palpatations feeling very tierd and light headed, terrible head ache. i already had blood pressure and blood preasure was up extremely high. apparently blood shot burst veigns in eye can indicate high blood pressure. i am sure your doctor will have checked this.
MAY NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS but please get it checked.
i have had heart op in past so could have been related they trebbled bp/ heart tabs. i have felt better since and havent had any more blood shot eyes. good luck and look after yourself.

Hi every one I hope none of you are in to much pain,
I went to the doctors yesterday about my eye, I didnt see my normal doctor because she was away, the doctor I saw examined me & said I had subconjunctival hemorrhage plus glaucoma, He took my blood pressure said that was fine
& gave me some drops to close the blood vessels, (WHICH IS OUT OF STOCK AT PHARMACY UNTIL MONDAY  )
he also gave me some more artificial tears because I had run out.
He told me it was nothing to worry about, He than went on to say I see you are waiting to see a surgeon about damaged discs in your back,& said he sympathised with me because he had just had his operated on,
I thought I was waiting to see a back specialist so I got that wrong didn't I
  Thank you all for your support

I am glad you got your eyes sorted and Monday will soon be here so you can have your stuff! The back specialist and the surgeon may be one and the same man - so possibly you don't have that wrong! I hope you are feeling as OK as you can be, given all that is going on with you. Take care. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Yes thank you DD
At least I have had it checked out, I don't think it will be long until I hear from eye specialist, because I went for a field test last week & the nurse said I should hear from consultant in the next two weeks, So lets hope it gets sorted
 I hope you are OK DD take care Sue x
