Had a terrible shock last night

I got a call last night at 10.25pm to say that my nannie was having a heart attack. She lives 45 minutes drive away so gathered up my sisters, sorted out children and dashed there. But they could not revive her and she was pronounced dead at hospital.

It was just such a terrible shock as she was a very fit and independent lady. She had a good day yesterday, had her dinner and then went to bed. She knew nothing about it which I know is a blessing.

I feel terrible today, I was planning to go and see her last saturday with my sister, but because she was feeling ill we postponed it a week. They are not sure if it what a heart attack or something else and it will have to be investigated as it was a sudden death.

I only got 2 hours sleep this morning so hoping to go to bed and sleep well as I feel absolutely awful. It was horrible having to say goodbye to her after she had gone, there was nothing anyone could of done

Please try not to dwell on the fact you didn't see her last Saturday, there's nothing you could have done.

I am so sorry about your loss but try to remember the good times which i am sure are plentiful. It is a blessing she went in her sleep and I am sure she is watching over you and would not want you to feel bad about not going to to see.

I do hope you will all get comfort from each other.

This is a dreadful thing to happen Makes you question everything.

I am glad she had such a good day yesterday and that she dies in her own home like that not even knowing, with no need for hospital admissions pain or suffering.

I wish I had some wise words to day - I should I have lost both my Mum and Dad already, but I know you WILL get through this as a family. Cry your heart out if you need to she was loved.
