Hi
I'm just on to have a moan....sorry.
I'm so fed up.....as most of you know I had my first THR beginning of February and here we are almost the beginning of November 8 and a half to 9 months and I'm much worse than i was before they started.

The 2nd one was due a few weeks back and they then decided it might be my back that was causing the pain....after having done 1 THR?????? A referral was sent off to a back specialist I think it was 3 weeks ago....might not sound very long but had hoped to hear something at least even if no appointment.....but not a word from anyone......How much longer before they get in touch and I'm in less pain than I am now???
I know....... sorry...how long is a piece of string
I have my doubts whether I'll let them touch the 2nd hip now....especially since the orthopaedic surgeon said it might have been the spinal block that exacerbated {sp?} the pain in my back.

Vent over.....I think

Love
Hileena

How frustrating for you, I am so sorry. I suppose you will have to start playing 'Chase the Specialist' soon - the last thing you need or want. I'm not too good at these so brace yourself: ((())). DD

    Hi Hileena
Sorry that you are in so much pain etc.. Of course, I can`t help with the appointments, but I can really empathise, it is really frustrating waiting for letters and phone calls which are really important to you.
I hope you hear something soon xx

No better advice really than other guys have said, just popping in to give you a gentle ((((hug))))

Hi, sorry to hear you're not having a good experience post THR  funny how we all seem to have different experiences, good and bad. The waiting for appointments when you're in pain is not good, and I do empathise, having had 2 operations cancelled and then having to wait what seemed forever for a date. Hope you get that appointment soon, jk

    Hi Hileena :D

just you moan away flower :!: you have a right to moan, shout and scream... given the recent news from the ortho and having your 2nd op postponed. :?

Having to wait is mind numbing.... and each day you wait seems like a week. Watching for post also reinforces the drag of waiting and you never have a day (except maybe Sunday) when you're not reminded of the wait & that the back doc still hasn't got in touch.

It's not surprising Hileena that you're now querying whether you should have the hip op. I just hope that you hear something soon regarding an appointment and that the back consultant can answer some of your questions.

As DD said... maybe you're going to have to play 'catch the consultant' and start chasing up the appointment.

I hope you have something nice planned for tomorrow and can put all of this aside for a time.

    (((hugs)))

We all do have different experiences dont we? Most people that have THR have absolutely fantastic outcomes....I'm pleased about that....but I wonder will i ever get the mobility back that I had before the op.....Couldnt walk long distances but could do more than i can now.....thanks for the reply

    Hi Iris,
You are right......every day seems like a week or a month and I'm constantly watching the post.
I might have to play catch the surgeon or chase him LOL
Dont even know what hospital he's in.....the one that did my hip referred me to a back specialist in another hospital.....not sure whether i should start with the hip one and find out when he referred me....he did say he would do it the next day and up to now he has been great or whether to find the back specialist and find out if and when he got a referral and maybe a rough idea of an appointment??? Who knows

Now that sounds like a plan!

go for it Hileena.... phone your hip consultant's secretary and find out when the referral was made and who to.... then you can play 'catch the back consultant' :D

at least then you'll know what's happening and can stop sitting by that letterbox!

    Oh Hileena

Just trying to catch up and see this latest. So sorry things are still dragging on for you and there is nothing worse than waiting for appointment letters. It was bad enough gearing yourself up for a second op and then having it postponed. I do hope you can get some information next week as to where things are with the specialists. In the meantime do call in and have a moan. I hope you can at least have a reasonable day tomorrow and be nice to yourself. I send some hugs your way ((((( )))))

    Thanks everyone
I'm definately going to ring the Orthos secretary tomorrow and find out when the referral went....you know how things can sit on desks :( and then I will ask her where Mr Sanderson's {back specialist} secretary is and get in touch with her and find out how things are going. Thats as far as I can go {or I think it is} for now. So fed up that they messed this THR up and the ortho actually said that the spinal block might have made my back worse.....sorry anyone going for a THR.,.....read all the positive THR posts and there are loads of them

I do hope that your appointment comes very soon, Its awful how they have you hanging on.
I can only imagine what you are going through, has I have said before, I am not convinced all my pain is coming from my hips, so I am watching your post with bated breath.
I really do hope that things work out for you.
And dont you apologize for moaning, it will do you good.
    Lots of love

    Hi Hileena,

I do hope you get through tomorrow and at least get things moving one way or another. Stress how much pain you are and hopefully the secretaries will do their stuff.

    Sending some hugs.
