Oh alanamancunian! I am sorry - you were not ready for that at all, were you? Sit down with a nice cuppa and get your breath back. Fuel prices are horrendous and about to rise again, apparently. Start saving now for the next pit-stop. Apart from that how is the driving going? Hit anything yet? :D DD

Cars will achieve a good mpg once the engine has warmed: I do many short journeys and as a result Daisy drinks unleaded like I do white grape juice for grown ups! A good mpg can be achieved at moderate speeds, it isn't a case of 54 mph any more, careful and economical driving will yield good results, but longer journeys do help. I don't thrash the engine or stand on the brakes either - that helps efficiency. I hope you are enjoying it tho, it does make a difference to be able to come and go as one pleases and not to be tied to stupid timetables. DD

The mpg figure is nearly always wrong as we have been noticing as we look for a new car. The last 2 have been well out,
