Have just come back from the orthopedic trauma clinic, they think I may have carpell tunell syndrome or nerve damage from my OA.
Got to wait for a nerve conduction test appointment, had some x-rays done today.

Has anyone had this test????
If so what delights are instore for me ???? :|

Hope everyones day is not so bad and for those that are struggling a huge hug from me to you

The doctor or nurse will use a special machine and pass electric currents through your fingers and hand to see how long it takes them to travel along the nerves. It is painless. Your fingers may jump around a bit because of the elctricity, but otherwise there is nothing to see or feel.

It's nothing to worry about. I hope yours goes ok.

    Hi
Ive had the test done its painless & unintrusive
It feels a little tingley but thats it
Im having both my carpal tunnels operated on in 2wks 15th Nov
Im a nurse so know what to expect though its a bit daunting
The Consultant who is performing the operation is from my own ward & is excellent so Im not too worried he is very good
My only fear is needing a wee when on the operating table! He thought it was funny Ive said im not eating or drinking for 24hrs just in case!
As its a local anaesthetic you can eat & drink up untill you go it to hospital but I aint risking it!
Will let you know how I get on
Good luck with your nerve induction studies you will be fine
