Hi everyone,
hope you've all had a good day. I had my appointment with the new doctor today, it went very well, I was in there 45 minutes. She sent me for x-rays, referral to podiatrist, started me on hydroxy, she listened, she examined me and agreed that I'd been treated badly and did the right thing by complaining. She couldn't understand why I hadn't had a meds review or any x-rays since I was diagnosed (5 years ago), she said that should be standard practice. When I told her what the nurse had said to me she said that even if she was having a bad day she shouldn't treat patients like that. Hopefully from now on I will start to get somewhere and get on top of the pain. The only downside was finding out the OA is worse than I thought and I also have costochondritis, but as she's such a good doctor it hopefully won't be too much of a problem. The result of my bone scan showed I have hot spots (inflammation) im my feet and ankles, wrists, elbows and shoulders so at least she knows what she's dealing with. I have to have a specialised blood test next month and then see her in January. I feel much better now knowing I'm being taken seriously. I just have to wait to hear about my complaint, should be next week sometime.

Sue x

    Hi Sue,

I am so pleased for you. To have someone who listens to you makes all the difference. She sounds like an excellent doctor. It certainly looks as if you are going to get the proper treatment you deserve now. You have come a long way Sue, well done you. It’s just a pity that you have had to fight all the way.
Have you been given any anti-inflammatory medication?
Good luck with Hydro I have been taking it for over a year now without any problems.

    Hi Ironic,
thamks for your reply. Yes I do have anti-inflams, it used to be diclofenac but a month ago my GP put me on meloxicam, I also take tramadol and I'm now on 22.5mg of MTX, I'm hoping this combination will do the trick.
