Ooooh, get you with your fancy coloured text! I hope you are feeling OK today speedy, and have been able to rest properly. What hours/days are you doing next week? I cannot remember if you have told me, so apologies if I am repeating myself - I have an extreme case of brain fuzz at the mo. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Hi speedy, bless u I did get some rest thanks, just had kiddies picked up so free to relax and rest until my 3 lads (4 Inc my OH) start lighting the fireworks!!!.
Ofsted were actually really good, I've been a c/minder for 15yrs and have an outstanding grade, so they are keen to keep me, they said they will contact my local college on my behalf and get back to me. I do love my job, you must too, but it is physically challenging, going this weekend to look at a different double buggy, anything to take pressure off my fingers is good. Have a good weekend and take care Poppy xxx'grá agus solas'

Hi speedy
good to hear you got started back... though as others have said it's not surprising you're tired  it must take a lot out of you just being back, without also facing the demands of the little ones!
How has S adjusted to the changes :?: hope he is OK too.
hope you have something nice planned for the weekend that's a treat for both of you!

Hi DD,
nothing like a bit of colour on such a grey, dull afternoon! I'm working Tues, Wed and Thurs morning next week. Tues though I'm a mixture of office and class based (and it needn't be little ones!) I was tired today and so had an easy day, to recharge batteries for S at the weekend. We are going to Bonfire Night at my school tonight ... S loves to stick to tradition. Personally it is cold, wet and dark and I would rather stay in ... but we'll wrap up warm and NO COOKING as food is provided!
Sorry your brain is fuzzed up, but better to be fuzzed up and pain bearable, until the flare passes.

Hi Poppy, Ofsted phone call sounds promising, didn't realise they would contact colleges on your behalf. Do the students on placement only work term time?
Never occured to me you would have to buy your own double buggy ... no way putting pipe lagging on the handles of the old one would help?

Hi Iris,
I think the clocks changing and getting back into early starts after two weeks of lie ins due to half term are compounding the tiredness.
S has a cross country competition tomorrow. Hope the weather is ok and then it should be a pleasant event - other parents and carers go too so it is nice and sociable. Sunday I think we will have a chilling sort of day.
Hope you have a good weekend too.

Hi Lynn and Berty, amazed how tired I felt!! Pinning all my hopes on the new equipment ... the size of my new pupils and their equipment is trebling the challenge.
Thank you for your support,

Hi Speedy
This is Marion ... (just found out how to log on to the new site)
Well, that's your first week over.. That bending down whilst sitting in a chair is a problem though .. (I am having to do quite a bit of bending to fasten the velcro on my orthpaedic sandals!)
My equipment took just over a week to arrive..
Hope you are feeling a bit rested after today..
Have a good Saturday.
I'm goin gto send this message before I press the wrong key again and lose it!!

Hi Speedy,
Years ago I had a big injury and was of work months and I mean months. Its hard after a long length of time to get back into the flow... took me a few weeks as I remember and even after that I might never have got back into ti as well as before the injury. I changed jobs after 3 months though and that was shift work and new and adrenaline helped
You hang in there and it will all get easier.
leaving you a ((((( ))))) nd a bit of saffron cake and cream. Enough for S as well of course. Cris xx0 -
Hi Speedy sorry did reply sooner, but have only just found yours to me! Firstly this is my second hip replacement in less than a year.My left hip replaced December 2009,my right September this year.Girdle Stone pocedure is when they take hip joint out completly and leave out for the length of time when they consider it safe enough to replace.Left one was removed October 2009,then replaced as above, only 7wks.Right one was out from May until Sepember!! I was bed bound almost totally, with an electrically controlled mattress type thing for almost a year.I did manage through pure grit,to get from one room to another on a special Gutter Frame, only because I said I would top myself if I could'nt try and do something.I am I know now a special case, very rare, and also had a wash out in left hip December 2008.So in all have not walked on 2 legs until now,its been crutches, frame and back to crutches but at last both feet flat on floor, with a wonky looking right leg.I can live with that! Physio, you what,I love it! very intensive, painfull, but I know it's what I have to do.I had 5 ops in all, been to hell and back, just want my legs back.I too work with small children.0

Hi Marion, I had trouble getting back on the website too.
The leaning forward whilst sitting is problematic, I'm having to do it alot - alternating with kneeling (thankgoodness I practised kneeling!) I can feel it in my buttock and at the base of my spine. On Friday I felt discomfort when walking again.
How long have you got to wear the orthopaedic sandals for (and have you got a good supply of orange carriers?!) I am worried about you tripping though if the sandals come undone whilst you are walking.
Hope my equipment takes the same time to arrive ... It was ordered Tuesday just gone.
On Friday felt a bit miserable, had an easy day and then took S to Bonfire night and had a really good time. Today we were at a Cross country competition, very pleasant - but two hours late getting home - the team coach broke down and had to wait for a replacement - so a lot of sitting in one position ... did manage to sit on picnic blanket though - and everyone quite impressed.
Hope you are feeling a bit rested after today..
So annoying when a message is lost.
Remind me did you have your appointment or is it next week?

Hi Cris, a friend of mine said it is hard enough returning to work after a long time off, let alone if you have had an op - and I guess she is right. If I was with the older kids that I have worked with for the last 6 years ... it would be a lot easier.
I do keep my eye out for jobs - but not a lot going at the moment and probably not the best time to be changing. I know what you mean about adrenaline - it evokes super human powers doesn't it.
Thank you for the saffron cake and the cream too - S and I very grateful.
Must catch up on your thread.

Hi Mirabella,
you poor thing - what a horrendous time you have had. Did you have an infection in the bones to warranty such a drastic path of treatment. Sounds like you easily have the guts and determination to be walking well again, though it will take time. Glad you have a fab physio and can feel/see it is helping. Why is your right leg wonky looking - do you mean because of the swelling?
Do keep us posted.
