meeting at work today

Hi
I have to go into work today, well, I have insisted in the end. A couple of weeks ago i was told that 2 managers, and HR wanted to meet with me. Then it was 1 manager and HR. Then when I rang yesterday to find out what time I was to meet them, I was told, HR couldn`t see me/didn`t need to see me, and I could just meet my line manager or speak on the phone if that was OK. :? (I`ll be having a meeting with myself next! )
My manager then said we could `have a chat` on my first day back next Thursday. Er no, I said, i would rather talk before I come back to ensure phased return sorted properly and that my role was amended suitably until I have been reassessed in December. So, reluctantly she has squeezed me in at 10.30 ish this morning.
I will let you know how I get on, pocket duty please!

Hi NB, you might have got more done at a meeting with yourself!!
Seriously though, how ridiculous, of course you need everything sorted out before you return next Thursday. Hope meeting goes well, let us know how you get on.

Hi
Well I`m back!! You can hop out of my pocket now, thanks xx
My meeting went quite well i think. I saw some colleagues who were lovely and gave me hugs
With my manager, we discussed my phased return. I am going in for 3-4 hours next thursday to sort through stuff.
Then the phased return starts properly the following week , over 4 weeks initially, on full pay. I am on amended duties, office based to start and no visiting until I have seen consultant again. I have asked for a referral to OT for work assessment (? via ATW) I have taken in a loo raiser to be fitted as there a re no disabled loos in our building. So, i left her with a list of people to contact, and it seems they are very concerned that I don`t risk my hips etc at work , which is reassuring.
So all in all a good day I think.
Off to Mum`s for tea and fireworks with hubby and kids later. Have a good evening everyone xx

Hi NB
so glad to hear your meeting went so well! and I'm glad that they are showing some concern for you and anxious not to put you in the position of hurting your hip. :P
You sound upbeat about it all... and that's the main thing!
your Occy Dept will assess any adaptations you need but if you want an ATW assessment then you would have to contact your local jobcentreplus office and speak to a DEA (Disability Employment Adviser)
good luck when you start back and I hope the phased return etc lets you ease back gently in to your job.
enjoy the family get together and fireworks tonight!!
(((hugs)))

Hi NB, glad you had a good welcome, it is daunting going back after time off, so being welcomed by colleagues is reassuring isn't it. The meeting sounded positive. Going the ATW route as described my Iris is a really quick way to get a workplace assessment, so if there is a wait for the OT assessment - I would recommend ringing the DEA at Jobcentre plus.

Glad everything went well for you. It must have been hard going back until you know what other people feel about it. Silly, but I'm the same. Love Sue0

Hi Nearly,

Hope they will help you as well as they did last time and leaving you a ((( ))) and a bit of saffron and cream... tis good stuff for breakfast Cris xx0 -
Hi
I had a good time at my Mum`s , good food, good drink (well not for me I drove!), good company and a few firework!
Ooh but i`m paying for it today. My poor hips are shouting in protest and my lower back feels like it will snap. I think all the driving and differing chairs etc.. did not suit. So I am dosed up on painkillers and planning a quiet day , well -ish. My daughter wants me to take her to town to buy her friends birthday pressy and my hubby is busy working then at football match , so he can`t do the honours for her.
I should be done by mid afternoon so will rest up then .
The sun is out here and it looks lovely, just hope it stays that way.
Cris, thanks for the saffron and cream, never had that at breakfast time before , yum xx
