Wow After panicking for weeks now waiting for a decision on my DLA renewal I recieved my letter this morning that states I have been awarded DLA for an indefinate period.
I have to admit I am so lucky to have such a supportive GP who is very thorough when filling out the forms.
There is still hope for people despite the goverments attempts to take away all our support.

Congratulation Theresa, enjoy the moment.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Theresa
I am so very happy for you.
let's hope indefinite is a very very very long time

Theresa, that is wonderful news, I am really made up for you. It is going to be a difficult time ahead, for many who are on DLA or ESA and whatever else they abbreviate these days.
I had a true fight on my hands, but won my case, thanks to the great support of my GP and Consultants. Mine only runs to 2012 and my ESA will be reviewed next September, even though I meet all criteria and score way and above their point system. I think they assume that I will be "better" by that date, well, sorry, no, I won't, end of. My GP said, "I would like to see them try" when I said that they might want me to attend a work based assessment.
Anyway, I am rambling, well done.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi Theresa!
what a wonderful result I am so pleased for you. :!:
as other have said I hope that 'indefinite' means for as long as you need it, and that you don't have to go through any of the ATOS assessments again.
so nice to hear your good news and yes I do hope it gives some reassurance to others who are applying..

Well done Theresa.
I too was surprised to get an indefinate award after weeks of worrying. However I think mine is only until I have my 2 ops (hip and ankle) then I doubt I will qualify anymore.
I hope the money is helpful but it is also the recognition that is nice.

Isn't it weird how excited we get over being given what we deserve! Still I'm thankful don't know how I would manage without it .There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart...pursue those. --Michael Nolan

Hi Theresa,
About time something wet right for you flower Tis good to see thy sometimes get it right and hopefully this lot will all fall out and go into obscurity before the tick a box medicals become permanent. I don't see how they can over ride doctors and consultants at all.....
Still you enjoy the moment and really hope indefinite will mean just hat!
