    Hi
Well i have had IBS for years and i manage it well with over the counter pills and diet. I think in all honesty the form for IB/ESA only mentions if you are incontinent and as far as im concerned IBS doesnt make me that. I mean i may have to make a mad rush to a loo now and again but I am mostly in control....Why mention such a small thing on a big form?
    Your decision however...

I am not sure about mentioning IBS on any forms but I do know that IBS can be tolerable or totally intolerable like mine was until very recently. It was getting so bad that I did not want to go out for long periods of time, living in fear or certain scenarios. Since August and being under the care of a wonderful gastroenterologist who ruled out anything sinister I have at last got my life back with the aid of amitriptyline taken at night which was started at 10mg and is now at 25mg and a stash of imodium to use freely as suggested by the gastro. I sympathise with anyone who suffers from IBS if it stops you doing what you want on a daily basis.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Well yes but i have been on amtripilyine and it didnt help me one bit...Its really a case of elimination in food and lifestyle too....I cant have dairy and know if im stressed its worse....But if its stopping you going out and using incontinence products then one would need to see a specialist...I always keep anti diarrhoea tabs in my bag and car so im prepared.........But some days i can be at loo five times, guess i just live with it, not much else you can do?
