Hi All

I went for my first interview since ive had my op in march this year. It was at haverigg prison, i live in kendal...Welll it coulnt have been a more foul day, sheeting rain, fog n floods and there i was hurtling along in my skoda fabia with Sol gripping the dashboard with a vengence!!!
Took me 1 hr 5mins, and it was a 60 mile round trip, left home at 11.30, home at 2.30pm...Interview werent too bad only lasted about 20mins after all that way...Saw so many screws that felt like i was gonna get taken in!!! They didnt ask much really, q's about "why do you want this job, what are your strenghts"...I did me best and set off back home.....
Horrible place, and there were 2 jobs, one for 20hrs and one fulltime - bet i get offered if any part-time!!!

Well done for getting there and back in horrible weather and for the interview even if it was really quick. When do you expect to hear back from them?

Glad you got there and back safely. Do you want the job? Part time wouldn't be a bad thing would it - with your knee?

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Speedy

Part time wouldnt be good as would spend about £60-70 a week on fuel and on a part time wage of about £8,000 pro rata it would be a bit senseless....

In that case, I hope you get the full time one - if you want it and you feel your knee will cope.

Let us know how you get one,

I am sorry that you didn't get it, pleased that you are not sad about that, and happy that they have put you on a reserved list: the right thing for you is out there somewhere, and I am sure you will find it. DD

    Hi

Im not sad at all...They interviewed me cos I ticked a box saying I had a disability and they therefore are obliged under law to interview me......The reserve list is just a formality, its the same as keeping your details on file, means nothing...

    Hi Elaine,
Sorry I am so late, got sort of lost for a while there. If nothing else it has been an interesting exercise for you. A chance to hone your interview skills is never a waste of time is it? It’s just a pity that you had the awful drive.
Take care and hopefully the next one will be more promising.
