Hi Everybody six weeks today since my THR and can't believe the difference.Minimal pain and I think that is just the muscles not fully healed after the op.Not touched a painkiller for 4 weeks now.Getting around really well 2 crutches on a long walk 1 crutch in the house and sometimes none at all.
I don't know if I have been very lucky or this is normal,But at 70 years of age I think it's brilliant.I would certainly say to anyone dithering over whether to have this done Go for it!!!
A week next Saturday,Benidorm Here We Come!! It's only 1and 1/2 hours from here but a million miles away from how I was feeling just a few weeks ago

Absolutely fabulous, tonesp, I am very happy for you (despite being a violent shade of green). Sill exercise some caution tho, please: you are not out of the woods yet, it is still early days. (Just had to bring you down a peg or two!
) I wish you well - pointless or what, eh? You are! DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi Tonysp, that is great news. Keep up the good work.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -

Hi Everybody Thank you for all your kind words But really the main aim of my post was to give any ditherers a bit of a leg up.I am sure that there are people out there who are suffering like I was but just lack that little push to tip them over (not literally) I can assure them of the fantastic support that the folks on this forum offer.I feel very proud to be considered one of you and even when I am breaking world records for sprinting (some hope ) I would like to still offer support0
