Hi Everyone, Just when I thought it was safe to go out alone, I opened a letter on Monday, as I was leaving to see my GP to say that I have to go and have an ultrasound scan. I don't suppose anyone remembers, I know I hardly do, that I had an MRI on my pelvis and it my rheummy contacted my GP, as I needed an ultrasound scan on my left overy to see whats going on. My GP responded that as I'd had my overies removed 25 years ago, she wasn't sure what to do. I heard nothing for about a month or so. The rheamies sec said she would speak to the consultant and see what was going to be needed as she could see the problems in the reports. I happily forgot about it as it was all serveral months ago but, on Friday 12th I have to go for the scan. My GP says its may be an old scar on the pelvis or an area that they want to look at again, but she said that she honestly couldn't work it out either and had tried to read it up!!! Shes very nice. She told me not to worry! Ha Ha! Said it is unlikely to be cancer or anything much, it could be an old patch of active endometrosis, which is why I' had the hysto and overies removed, that can carry on growing, fed by the HRT patches, but again its not common. Anyway, just thought I'd share that as I've been quietly worrying!!! Doc said I did the right thing with the Physio, when I told her, she said 'well done! Love Sue

Hi Sue, It could just be scar tissue/adhesions. I've had the same thing and it turned out to be just that. Try not to worry as berty says.

Hi Sue,
It is difficult not to worry! anything that's not yet explained or diagnosed always puts us in a bit of a spin doesn't it.
If you can... try not to get too anxious, after all as berty and sal said, there may be a very simple explanation.
At least you've not got weeks to wait until the scan... and you know we'll all be with you, either in spirit or in your pockets.
keep your chin up!
(((hugs)))

Hi Sue,
Flower there are so many things it could be it doesn't have to be anything drastic. I am sorry though cus it does seem a bit endless for you there.
I can only echo the others and be in your pocket if you need. Leaving you a ((((( ))))) and so many hopes you can stay calm flower. Luv Cris xx0 -
Hi Sue, not surprised you are worried, the unknown is always worse than knowing. Roll on the scan, so that you know more. Try and keep as busy as possible. Take care,
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
hi, Thank you for the replies. I've been OK until today, getting a bit close, I suppose! My head tells me one thing but my heart something else! I'll feel such a fool if its nothing, but a very grateful fool! It shows that the rheummy, although I didn't like him, took the trouble to refer me and he wrote a short personal letter, explaining why why he'd referred me, and the letter was a reassuring and thoughtful touch. I'll be careful with all of you in pocket, because what would we do without each other? Lots of love, Sue0

Hi sue
sorry the letter knocked you sideways, just as we all think we have escaped the dreaded brown envelope (mine are brown) one appears.
I wish you luck for friday and hope the scan proves to be nothing.
I will be in your pocket too.

skezier brings a sheep, I bring strawberries and fizz, which I have to keep away from said beast! Of course we will be with you in spirit, woodbon, these things are unsettling - the dreaded what-ifs will be flying round your head, I have no doubt - yup, I can see a cloud of them from here! Whatever that scan shows, whatever bridge you might have to cross, you know that we will be with you every step of the way. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Good Luck Sue ...I had a similar discovery and the consultant radiologist explained that where surgery had taken place a small kink occurs when healing! Will be thinking of you on the 12th.0
