Thank you for the thought speedy- naked sleeping  is now the order of the night - it makes the mopping up quicker and there is nothing worse than soggy nightwear. I honestly don't think that wicking wear would help, it is literally like being under a waterfall when the sweat hits. It is astonishing what the human body can do to make life unpleasant. It is absolute hell - oh marion I know the dripping hair thing only too well! Horrendous, isn't it? And yes, the sweats happen during the day, generally from lunchtime onwards: I take the pred in the morning so by about 2pm I am ready to drip - my children now do not bat an eye as the desk fan is turned on and a towel appears. I have to dry the earpiece of the phone on a regular basis too - I would not be at all surprised to electrocute myself on that bit of kit! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi there DD
It's just not fair for you to have to put up with this as well as everything else...
I'm thinking about you a lot but just can't come up with any good ideas .. sorry ..
Hope you sleep better tonight - you must be exhausted..

Hi DD,
I had years of bad night sweats so my heart goes out to you. Mine were 24/7 and I know how draining they can be.
We have a tiled bathroom floor and I would get up in the middle of the night to stand on them. Thank goodness for the washing machine. It’s a never ending conveyer belt of sheets, towels and tops.
It is amazing that hubbys can sleep peacefully on when we are floundering about gasping for breath and wondering if there is any hydration left in our bodies.
It is even worse for you as you are in a catch 22 situation with the medication. I do hope that by lowering it things get a little better for you.
The only thing I can come up with is having some ice cubes to rub round the hair line and over your wrists.
A friend of mine swore by taking a bottle of frozen water to bed every night not sure whether she drank it or cuddled it. Maybe both.

Morning DD
Still trying to get a good nihts sleep, you poor thing I really don't know what to suggest as I am sure you have tried most things. The bottle of frozen water sounds good think it was iris who said it.
Are you any better when the temp drops outside?
Last night was frosty did it help.
Hope this soon passes as you must be shattered now.
will keep my fingers crossed
take care

It's been like this for a good couple of years now, there have been a few good nights but I can count those on the fingers of one hand. The outside temperature makes no difference, these fires are lit from within. I know my concentration is now shot to bits, I used to love puzzle books etc but I cannot focus on them, my mind wanders. I guess that is the tiredness. Never mind, eh? It will pass, all things do. (Leans over, switches on the fan - aaaaaaaaaaaaah! Cold air!) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Hi DD,
Was wondering how you were feeling? How are the nights now? I'm still off my meds until see consultant next Thursday, was due to see her last week but she was ill and had to re arrange. I wanted to ask as I know you have PA too, do you ever suffer from rib pain? I never have before but the last 2 weeks I'm waking up in the night with pain in the ribs. It's bad enough for ne to take co- dydramol but I can't take it during the day as makes me woozy and childminding babies not a good combination.
Sorry for going on, I really meant to ask how you were and to say thinking of you and hope flare calms down very soon all the best Poppy x'grá agus solas'

Morning dd
Just hoping that things are now settling down a little and you are able to get some sleep.

Oh julie, I am as active as ever. Shame, eh? Never mind, it will pass (but when? WHEN?) all things do.
poppy, is it today you go or next Thursday? Whichever, I hope it goes well and take a list of questions etc to help keep the conversation foucused. Rib pain? Only when I pulled my inter-costal muscles turning a mattress. It lasted for years but is better now. Sore ribs have been mentioned on here before - and recently too. You could try a search on the word rib, see what comes up! I hope your day goes well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi DD,
Sorry your flare is as active as ever, it must wear you down, I haven't known you for long but you are always upbeat and supportive, thankyou for that.
I have my Rheumy consult next Thursday went for x-rays and a scan last Friday. The rib pain (left side) is seriously bad today, I could barely lift the 12month old and had to get my OH to help me pop the 2yr old in my double buggy. I've got tomorrow off, I think I'll try an see if I can get a gp appt as it's not good, sleep deprivation doesn't help and I keep waking whenever I move it just sets it off very sharp pain and co- dydramol only does so much...sorry for moaning I can't really tell my family and friends as don't want them worrying.
Thanks DD, I really hope you feel a little better soon Poppy X'grá agus solas'

The flare is sorted poppy, thank you. I managed to shove that back in its box by the end of last week, so that has helped matters. I am sorry about your ribs, I do think you do need to see someone tho what they can do, well, I have no idea. You could have strained something I suppose with hefting small humans about! I wish you well and let us know how you get on, please. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
