Hello everyone, I'm finally back, I thought I'd lost youall for good. Since the update I haven't been able to login, I sent two e-mails which were replied to, but what they told me to do didn't work. Had an e-mail from web manager asking me to ring him, when I did after a few tries we finally got it sorted, he was very nice and helpful. Nothing new to report really except my neck (OA) is really playing up at the moment, every night when I lay down it goes really stiff and no matter how I try I can't get comfy and go to sleep, as soon as I sit up it's ok again, what a bugger. On sunday night I was up till 3am, then I finally went to sleep till 9.30 Painkillers aren't helping so I don't k

Hi Coco, yes I have tried that and I also have an adjustable bed but neither seems to help. I'm just so tired at the moment.

Hi Sue, it has been a bit quiet on here the past couple of days! I woke last night at 3am with a really painful knee. Put an ice pack on it and took painkillers and eventually went back to sleep. Have you got one of those v shaped pillows? Would that help?0

Hi nansue, it's lovely to see your name pop up - I think quite a few have temporarily lost here, I didn't realise that I wouldn't be able to get back in thro my favourites thing, that I would have to start again! I am so sorry about your neck, I have no good ideas (or bad ones either) to offer, but I sincerely hope it settles down again soon. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Sue,
It is awful when you cannot sleep. I’m sure you have tried most things to get comfy. Have you tried anti-inflam gel?
Would a night neck collar help?
Sending you a hug,

Hi Sue,
Nice to see you back
Nothing worse than necks and sleep..... they cause interrupted sleep, pain, cramp, more pain and less sleep.... Sorry not exactly helping am I?!
I wonder if you need different pain meds there? I have regular trigger points into my neck and shoulders and it sort of shuts things down for a bit. Might be worth asking flower?
I really hope you can get comfy and sleep well cus the sleep deprivation thing gets a bit heavy at times. Leaving you a ((( ))) and really am glad you got back in. Cris x0 -
Hi nanasue
Glad you are back.
Bet you missed the forum and felt frustated at not being able to get on.
Hope your neck is much better today.

Hi Nanasue, I had trouble coming back to the forum too ... ended up ringing the webmanager. Bit by bit we are all coming back.
Sorry your neck is playing up - this cold, damp weather doesn't help us OA peeps does it. The whole no sleep is vile. Hope you get comfy tonight and sleep a bit better. Have you one of those V-shaped cushions? They might help?
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hi Sue
nice to see you back :!: I think lots of folks have had difficulties getting logged on to the new system but it makes it all the nicer to meet and greet each other again.
I can well sympathise with the neck problems  I have the exactly the same difficulty trying to find some way of supporting my neck in order to get to sleep.
I use a fairly flat pillow and form it into the shape I need by tucking it under my chin to support my neck; which isn't very successful a lot of the time. sometimes having a scarf round my neck helps.
I'm sure others will be along soon with brighter ideas than mine!

Hello everyone,
thanks for all your support and suggestions. I did sleep a bit better last night. Might have been cos I used anti-inflam gel, I know I should have done it before but you just get so fed up with the constant meds, gels, heat pads etc. even when you know it helps sometimes you just want to rebel. I've just had a change of meds so I don't think it's that. I'm trying a new pillow tonight and I'm thinking about the v shaped one, sounds like a good idea. Here's hoping we all have a better day tomorrow, hope it doesn't rain.

Good luck with the new pillow and don't forget the gel: I know exactly what you mean about rebelling - I suspect we all do it from time to time. Take care - and sleep well! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
