Having a pre-op assessment tomorrow for a Scarf Akin plus lateral release osteotomy

Bet you don't know what that is  It's for a bunion with a few fancy bits thrown in 8)

Not in the slightest worried about the op, only concerned about my BP behaving and not having yet another uti (had 5 in the last 9 months!)

Please can you come in my pockets, whisper calming thoughts in my ear and turn my wee into water :)

Cherry xxx

On pocket duty with my usual Stinking Bishop sandwiches and garlic soup. Wee into water, hmmmm, how bout Cherry B instead.

    Good luck with the op.

Well you ain't a millions miles off there Delboy  I was a Cherry B before I was married. Never really had any other option than to drink Cherry B way back in the 60s :P

I lurve all cheeses and garlic is really the only natural thing that moves me these days, so thanks for that :)

Water Iris? I'm a waterholic, no surprise that I have to get up umpteen times a night which isn't an easy task with a zimmer in the dim light :?

Glad you'll be in my pocket Julie. However as the outfit I've selected has no pockets I think you might be more comfortable in my Louis Vuitton holdall, together with Iris, particularly with Delboy's stinking Bishop and garlic soup close at hand :D

I shall be over the moon to get rid of the pain Barbara and as for shoes I'm already dreaming but I'll have to wait until the other foot's done too

    Many thanks

I will be there too, complete with strawberries and fizz, both life-enhancing items. I know that recovery from a bunion op can be quite time consuming, so try not to get too impatient! If there is not enough room in the LV (I am somewhat bulky) then a Tes or Sainz placky bag will suffice, tho I would prefer a Wait or Marks if at all possible! I am sure it will all go well, cherrybim, let us know tho, please. DD

    Hi Cherry,
Wishing you well for tomorrow. I know a couple of people who have it done and they never regretted it.

The BP is always a problem. Mine goes up at the first sight of a white coat. So tomorrow we must all go Ommmm! Deep breathe in and slowly exhale. Could do without the smelly cheese though.

Hi Cherrybim - glad you explained what the op will be - never heard of that one before. I had my op for hallux valgus (hammer toes/bunions) when I was aged 16. Fab result - pain free weight bearing once over the op.

Sit down and write out a list of questions etc for your appointment tomorrow and of course we'll all be supporting you.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
