Tripped over today

I was squeezing round our minute classroom to get a little boy some more toys - he pushed back his chair - and I tripped over the chair legs and fell onto my hands and knees. OUCH!!! Bruised, swollen knees and of course it well and truly jarred the poor old hips. Now kneeling to work with the tiny pupils in my new class is painful as I'm kneeling on bruises. Kneeling was my best option as all the bending and leaning forwards was playing havoc with my lower back and hip muscles. Feeling 93, not 43.

Ok, wimpish moaning over ... not working tomorrow, so time to recuperate.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Oh no: speedy, are you OK? Small humans can be a blasted nuisance at times - I have nearly tripped over a fair few in supermarkets and in the street. I hope all is well and no damage done. DD

Thanks Coco, I'm just tired and sore. Got used to being painfree post op (before I went back to work,) so out of practise ... and feeling a bit resentful that work is making me feel like this.

Hope you are as well as you can be.

Hi DD, no major damage done - bones/metal intact. Just bruised swollen and sore knees and aching hips. The classroom is so small, getting around the furniture, children's specialist equipment and little people is lethal.

How is your good self? Still up to your exhausting night time antics?

OH Speedy that was a nasty fall. Trouble is you cannot make a fuss when children are in the room. Your poor knees. Good job you are off for a few days.
Hope you are not too shaken.

    Hi Ironic,

One little girl saw the funny side and watched the proceedings with interest. The rest were oblivious. No time to make a fuss, just had a quick glass of water and carried on. By the time ice pack located - swelling already started and no time to just sit there and hold it on. At least fell on hands and knees and not onto a hip joint. Falling on tarmac is worse.

Oh no speedy I bet you wondered where you were going. A trip is a terrible feeling as you try to stop yourself falling.
I hope the swelling soon goes down and that you are not left with any pain. Just what you needed eh?
I think you said you are not in tomorrow , good, rest up if you can.

    Take care

Oh No Speedy! Our worse nightmare... It's so easily done ...It could take about 2 weeks to get over this, I think.

I've had pc problems this week, so have nto been on the forum all week....

I'm off work tomorrow, so will have more time and will PM you.

I have actually sent this message before, but for some reason it hasn't appeared on the link - perhaps I pressed the wrong button!!

Anyway, you look after yourself tonight/tomorrow.

Hi Marion - I'm off work on Fri too, so a chance to elevate and rest. Looking forward to a Marion update. Need bruising to disappear sharpish as having to rely on kneeling in class. Sorry you have been having problems with your computer, very frustrating.

Thank you Cris, hope life is being a bit easier on you at present and that the lodgers are not taking over!!

Thank you Berty, went down like a ton of spuds - what can you do?!

Ok Julie, I'll stick to hand stands today!

Swelling improved - bruising still needs to fully come out.

Hope that microscopic hole where your wound was is closing up. Have you any plans for today?

    Hand stands acceptable

Micro hole still there, still using blooming honey.

Today I wil be messin on computer, got a new camcorder , size of a camera and i want to fathom out how to get the best results. Been messin with normal camera too enhancing photos cause with camcorder got a great programme to be able to do this. (well its good for me, a pro would prove to differ)

Keeps me out of trouble :)

    :lol::lol::lol: (hand stands)

Real nuisance about hole ... still using the honey? They haven't come up with any other suggestions then...

Have fun messing about with new technology, it's amazing how quickly time flies when doing this sort of thing. Do you have editing software too?

    Hi Speedy,
I have to the housework unfortunately, my 3 lads version of 'cleaning up' and mine do not tally!! I'll take it easy though as my arm is really sore from a blood test yesterday, I would describe it as Fatima Whitbread and a javelin! The nurse didn't even look she just plunged in and I'm left with a lovely lump and multi coloured bruise, sorry to whinge. Hope u have a restful day and a much better week to come, all the best Poppy x

Morning speedy, I hope you are making a good recovery and that you had a decent night. At least you have today and then the weekend to get some rest done! I hope S is OK, no coughs or colds (they seem to be everywhere around here at the mo) and that you both have a good week-end. Isn't it good to hear from marion again? Gradually the sheep are returning to the fold! DD
