    Hi margareth64
There are a few post on here about Butran, If they carry on not working then go back to your GP, I know sometimes we dont like keep going back, but pain relief is quite complex,
I have OA in my spine and hips, they have just taken me off anti inflammatories these really did help along with co codamols.

At night I take amitriptyline this helps with sleeping .
I do hope you get some relief very soon.

    Hi Margaret,
how nice to see you posting :D
but I'm sorry you're having such pain.

I agree with Barbara... go back and see your doc and ask about effective pain relief. It's really difficult to cope with constant pain in your back  and perhaps a different combination or dosage would help you.

keep in touch and let us know how you are :?:

Hi Margaret, sorry the patches don't seem to be helping - if they don't do the job then you will have to go back to see the GP and tell him. Did your previous meds work?

Barbara - were you having problems on the anti-inflams? Or was it a GP whim?

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
