Hi everyone , the sun is shining but again no heat . I cant believe it mabye By Friday my car might be sitting in my driveway , my brother is going with me to get the car as he is my back up driver . once it on my driveway it will be ready for driving lessons. Although I dont fancy trying out in this weather . Another thing that worries me is . as I have to use my own car ( as it will have the adaptions) the instructor wont be able to stop me from crashing as he wont have dual controls , will he be able to fit thease are they easey to fit.

I picked this instuctor as she as asked me about the dla Quest from go and her and husband are very kind , I dont want to upset them by saying I am going to find another instructor with a car that has dual controls and the adaption I need .

Why are you assuming you will crash? I don't think that that is a given when learning! I suspect you will be fine Mike, and as adaptions are particular and specialised I think it best to use your car. Any instructor worth their salt will not allow you to get yourself into a dangerous position in the first place. You seem to get on well with the people you know, put your trust in them, I am sure they will not let you down. I wish you well - I hope Mike Jnr is continuing to improve. DD

i do feel that any instructor worth there salt will be able to manage with out dual controls the never used to have them years ago do not worry as you will be a natural if worried talk to them but trust them they know there job and would not put there own lives at risk val

    Hi Mike

I think you should talk to the instructor about this. If she has taught people with DLA cars before I expect she has come accross this issue herself.....

My ex-husband had all his lessons in his own car and it was best as he was ocnfidant in it. I had mine in a vauxhall and drove a mini so it was odd for me then to drive a diffrent car.

I reckon the instructor will be abel to put you mind at rest and anyway - You could be a brilliant driver - I think you might be you have more incentive than most to drive :)

    I have faith in you!
