Hi still fairly new to all this but have questions.
My hips and legs have been all over the place the past few days. Hips painful and clicking and knees giving me pain walking/hobbling by this evening. Is it normal for different parts of the body to hurt like mad, then ease off and another one start. Had months of my lower back and one hip now it seems to have changed.
I never know how i am going to get up still on no set pains relief as i have stomach issue which need to be sorted.

    Hi Lupin

Sorry flower it sounds kind of normal as I remember.

I wish so much you could get some decent pain relief and please go back to your doctor and try and get some help with both the stomach thing and the pain relief. I hope it will all ease up for you soon. ((( ))) Cris x

    HI Lupin

I'm sorry to say that it sounds fairly familiar to me too :(

One day it is my shoulders and wrists that are complaining, the next it can be my hips and knees, other days they all have a party at once :(:( so having a good pain management strategy is imperative.

Please please keep asking until they sort out the stomach issue and pain relief for you. Surely there is no need for anyone to be in so much pain without some help.

sending you hugs ((()))and try to take things easy if you can.

    Hi Lupin,
Yes I’m afraid that is normal. I never knew what the day would bring. Keep a diary of your symptoms and take it with you next time you see your Dr.
I hope you get your meds sorted soon.
    Hugs,
    Ix

    Hi lupin.
All totally normal I'm afraid. Can't keep up with the way arthur moves about :!:
Today elbows are hurting- never hurt before :!:
The pain diary is a good idea for the Doctor- mark pain on scale of 1 to 5 as well then he's got a good idea of what's going on.

    Take care

Ooooh, interesting question. It has never occurred to me before that I might be lucky with something on this arthritis front, but I think I am. I know what is going to hurt and when. My sacro-iliacs, knees and ankles hurt all the time, and my toes most of the time. My wrists and elbows are a new, constant pain (tho currently weak, I am sure it will build in time, thus giving me time to adjust) and my neck, shoulders and fingers go off when I flare. When it's a big flare my jaw joins in. It is, however, all miserable and if you don't know what, where and when, that must be extra confusing. What about patches for pain relief? Have you ever tried them? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Lupin,

It sounds familiar to me too. I have my faithful joints that are always a problem  and then the others seem to take it in turns and it can even change throughout the day. I think it's largely down to which joints you've used most recently and which ones have had the right balance between movement and rest. The worst time for me is the night when I can feel them all having a go and there's no distraction.

I would certainly encourage you to speak to your GP/rheumy about pain management. I have been on patches as DD suggested and they were good for all over pains like you describe. Also, as you change them once a week you can wear it and forget about it. They don't suddenly wear off like tablets do.

My RA has always acted like this. Quite recently it settled in my lower back for a couple of days causing havoc then old arthur was off and on his walkabout again. I always bear in mind it'll only be a couple of days till he moves on or nods off - he's sleeping today and I'm thoroughly enjoying it :D

Thanks for all your replys now donot feel like i am going mad. I was wondering at one point whether it was all in my head. Then i was doing the mind over matter which of cause my body took no notice of. Do you also suffer muscle weakness in legs arms etc? I find it difficult because i am on other treatments as i have had cancer twice so never sure whether the meds are causing the side effects or arthur. Bit of a pain...(.sorry about the pun couldn't help myself) really as never sure what is what. My hubby says i just greedy and i have all these things because they are free :):):):):) .

    Hi lupin

all sounds par for the course - sorry :(

In the circumstances ther is no harm in you making notes of symptoms to show the doctor next time you go.

    You take care

    Hello lupin,

Sorry you're suffering so much. :( I find my pain fluctuates. I was told that inflammatory types of arthritis can cause general muscle pain. Also, I find that my good joints compensate for my bad joints. When my ankles are bad, my knees ache so much simply because I'm walking stiffly.

Speak to your doctor. Don't let it all overwhelm you. xx

Hi as far as i am aware i have OA have had bloods taken for RA but no markers present..?????? One of the doctors at our practise said they only send people with RA to see the specialist as they can deal with the people with OA. Find it quite interesting as i have read there is 200 types of Arthur.....so i wonder how they know which one i have????
