I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Don't undo all the surgeon's good work by trying to do stuff - if you damage yourself what was the point of the operation? Do the exercises they have given you - I am sure they have, they always do! - and do them gently. You must give your hands time to heal. Yes, it must be frustrating, but so was NOT being able to do things as your hands were bad. This is your chance to have them working again - take care, don't overdo things, let them heal. Thinking of you. DD

    Hi Maria,
Good luck for tomorrow I hope all goes well for you. Yes I am sure you will feel a great relief when you have the dressings taken out. Please take care though as the wound will not have healed yet.

    Hi DD & Ironic,
Sutures are out luckily I used to work with the nurse who took them out so we were busy catching up on old times so didnt really take much notice when they were coming out :)
The wounds are healing well but feel really tight so ive been putting vasoline on them
Im still getting pain & have some stiffness so taking things easy & wearing my splints when it gets too uncomfortable
Mums here till Fri to make sure I behave & Dads still doing school run as Ive been advised not to drive till nxt week
Had a lovely bath yesterday bliss :D
Having a shower today & so looking forward to it I can was my own hair at last :!:
Saying that we took our son to my hairdressers at the weekend & my hairdresser took pity on me got one of her girls to wash it dry it & style it & didnt charge me it really made my day :D
Im glad Ive had them both done but wouldnt advise anyone to do it unless they had help as it really restricts your activities
Thank you all for you messages of support they have really helped
    Keep well & safe

That was so nice of your hairdresser, good to know that there are still some good people out there.

Well, that's good news, the fact that you have gone back to work must be encouraging for you. Don't overdo things tho, setbacks are most definitely NOT required! I wish you well. DD
