Does anyone have problem with their jaw and for the men folk out there this is not due to talking too much. :):):):):):):)
When i yawn i sometimes get a god awful pain at the top part towards my ears. It is like muscle spasm/cramp feeling which i have trouble closing my mouth after sometimes. try really hard not to yawn now. Would love to here your feedback about this one, my hubby says it is due to too much talking and my body is telling me to be quite!!!! :):):):):):)

I have had that occasionally and I have never attributed it to arthritis, just to yawning with my mouth too wide open. I think one tends to open one's mouth further at the 'peak' of the yawn, so start off with a more closed mouth thus allowing more room for the best bit! I hope this helps. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Now Lupin

you can tell the old man that it is not due to talking too much - I have been reassured by the dentist and the rhuemy that it is the arthritis.

Hold you jaw if you yawn to try not to let it open too much.

Remeber the jaw is used a lot - even licking your lips.

Other thing to do is to try not to clench your jaw if you are in pain and some guys have had a mouth gurad made by the dentist for this reason - to use at night.

    Love

Right thanks for that will try to remember to hold onto my jaw next time i yawn. Not sure whether it goes into spasm because i clench my jaw when i yawn...will have to think about that and try to relax when it happens.

    Hiya,
Hopefully your dentist will be able to help you. It's not funny having a sore jaw. It's the joint that you use the most! Let us know how you get on,

Hello lupin15, I have a lot of pain in my jaw, but saying that it has disappeared at the moment, but when it flares up its so painful, i get it in the actual jaw joint and the pain does travel into my ear and down my jaw, whan its in my actual jaw it feels like realy bad tooth ache. :(:(
I spoke to my GP and Rhumy about it and both agree its my Psoriatic arthritis thats causing the problem. My mum has the same issue with her jaw my dad had to be shown how to put my mums jaw back in place when it popped out.
