Hi
I've just come back from hospital have had some gynae trouble so I had a biopsy of my uterus for cancer about 6 weeks ago - GREAT no cancer but Hyperplasia which could apparently go onto cancer if not treated so they put a progesterone coil in me to last the next 5 years. I told them I was awaiting an appointment to see Rhematologist as my GP thinks I have arthritus and I'm on anit inflamitories.
Is there any link between the 2 conditions? Will the progesterone inplant make any difference to my arthritus? Better ?worse?

Dear Africa
Thank you for your posting.
I am sorry to hear about the difficulties you are currently experiencing.
As we are not medically qualified we wouldn’t be able to tell you whether there is a link between your hyperplasia and arthritis and whether the progesterone implant makes any difference to your arthritis.. This is something your doctor or rheumatologist may be able to answer.
For more information on hyperplasia and progesterone implants go to http://www.nhs.uk/Search/Pages/Results.aspx?___JSSniffer=true&q=hyperplasia and http://www.nhs.uk/Search/Pages/Results.aspx?___JSSniffer=true&q=progesterone+implant and for our booklet on ‘Understanding Arthritis’ go to http://www.arthritiscare.org.uk/PublicationsandResources/Listedbytype/Booklets.
I hope this helps.
Please call our helplines on 0808 800 4050 if you would like to have a chat about your condition, or if you need further information or advice.
Regards
