Hi

I thought id set up a wee topic for fun. That new song of Duffy's is one I hate (Well, Well, Well) and I just wondered if you would all give me your top five tunes that make you switch the radio/cd/player off...Mine are

1. Dance The Night Away - Mavericks (Urgh)...
2. Looking Out For Love - Fleetwood Mac (whats all the ooh's n aah's about on that?).
3. Why? - Annie Lennox....(All that bi ba biba boop boop drives me round the bend!)
4. If I Lay Here - Snow Patrol...Thats the ultimate switch off for me...
5. Tennesse Waltz - Eva Cassidy - she is good but she murders that song....

Look for to your lists...

Summer Holiday - Cliff Richard & the Shadows - works every time - and I usually do some damage 'cos I move too quick!
I absolutely cannot STAND that man.

Oh dont get me started on Cliff Richard!!!
When I worked at a mint cake factory and hadnt been there long i was on the machine taking off truffle bars I think...Anyhow it was tedious work and really boring plus was there by myself....This girl had bought a cd of Cliff's which I am not a fan of anyway but she played it over and over again.
Well after two plus hours of hearing the likes of "travelling light and move it" my fuse blew...I shouted down the factory "will somebody take this ****ing cd off replay"? It really was like chinese torture and after that I really really dislike him with a vengence but with good reason I have to say......

I agree with that, hate those rapping things - just gives me a headache.

But my real hates are Love Shack, Love Train and Green, Green Grass Of Home - I don't care who's singing them, I have been known to have a tantrum when they afflict me.

Oh my God, there are so many to choose from, you may not believe this but I can be a right moaning old git when a song I don't like comes on.. Let me think:

1: Anything by Nobbie Williams (I refuse to acknowledge his proper name)
2: Anything by the Cheeky Girls
3: I'm a Barbie girl.. What the hall was that all about?
4: A good heart by Feargel Sharkey ( I really liked the Undertones too)
5: Any of the cheesy pump it pump it techno crap that all the boy-gangsta's play in their ford escorts with silly whale fins on the back..?!

    'Shuduppa ya face'

It kept Ultravox's Vienna off the number 1 spot :!: :!:

'Downtown' Petula Clark- don't know why just irritated me and Petula was on the brink of giving up on the British music industry until that song was a hit :!:

Aw i like some of the one some hate but thats just human nature aint it? I mean ive seen Robbie and he is a good performer, as bonkers as a box of frogs but entertaining....what i didnt get was some people went to see him said he swore, well its RW, what do you expect???? Ive been to other concerts such as U2 and the campest of camp, Scissor Sisters......
I agree with some rap...I actually went to see that film of Eminem's - 8 Mile and thought id hate it but its like any other kind of music, there is meaning in the lyrics, a story to be told, okay not in the style most want but its not all noise and rubbish....
Another one has come to mind i hate and switch of when it comes on....

Tammy Winette and KLF - Justified and Ancient.....URGH!!!YUK!!!! - stick to standing by yer man woman!!!

would love to see the scissor sisters, bet they're brilliant.

    More songs that I hate:

The lion sleeps tonight (well if there's a sleeping lion nearby, my tip is stop pi$$ing him off by singing that crap at the top of your voice, in fact, no sing it louder, wake the bugger up and I hope he's hungry!!)

    Tony

They are camper than the Gay & Lesbian Pride Parade in Notting Hill but thats what you get...Jake started off by coming out in a little set of sparkly hotpant/dungaree set and when the concert ended he whipped it right off to a little g-string...Of course you cant see anything unless youre right there next to him....They are fabulous, love Ana and Jake lots......I think he has a touch of Elton John to his voice in some songs...
I grew up with that sort of cheese Tight Fit???? Lol and did like some of E17's stuff but not anymore, that lead singer was a right coke addict!!!

Yeah but it were always gonna happen once they had all grown up and seriously if Robster hadnt straightened out and fallen in love he would be 6ft under...He said in an interview recently that its genetic in his family, mental illness....Gary is the brains, very good songwriter, the other two are just backing singers but i like em all grown up....
Hmm will have to think of people to ask you if you like em.....Typical bloke, answer a question with a question...TSK!!! Right then gotta cook but as a quickie so to speak do you like and reasons why not or if you do given please:-

    Coldpay - im guessing not...
Pet Shop Boys - I saw em at Glastonbury on telly thought excellent live.

Will think while im currying for later...

Morning, hope you're well? Not a bit of snow here yet, thank God!
    Right:
Stones, excellent, best song, Sympathy for the Devil.
Sting/Police, excellent, best song, Don't stand so close to me.
Wacko, fantastic entertainer, did some amazing songs, some crap too though, total oddball  , but sad he's gone.
Eagles, did some classics, not really 'into' them but Hotel California is one hell of a song..

One song that makes me turn off the radio is Lucky stars, the one that goes you can thank your lucky stars that we're not as smart as we'd like to think we are......

I can't remember who sung it but it was an American couple with irritating voices.
