    I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    HI EVERYONE......iM STILL IN CARAVAN AND ITS NOT THAT BAD ,,QUITE WARM CONSIDERING THE WEATHER WE HAVE HAD...STILL WAITING FOR A NEW RHEUMY APPOINTMENT FROM CHANGING DOCTORS ...THE NEW DOC THINKS I JUST HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND NOT R,A..WHICH I HOPE IS TRUE ALL THO I STILL HAVE A LOT OF PAIN IN MY JOINTS..ESPECIALLY MY HIP,SHOULDER AND LEFT KNEE.....I ALSO STILL HAVE ALOT OF PAIN AT THE BASE OF MY THUMBS...IM ON PREGABLIN 200MG 3X DAY ..TRAMADOL 100MG 2XTWICE ADAY AND AMITRIPTYLINE 20MG AT NIGHT..ALONG WITH MY OTHER MEDS FOR MY THYROID AND STOMACH...I STILL DONT SLEEP VERY WELL EVEN AFTER THAT COCTAIL....AND A GOOD NOTE IVE GOT MYSELF A NEW MAN WHO IS GREAT AND IS VERY UNDERSTANDING OF MY ILLNESS....SO I CAN NOW SAY IVE GOT A SMILE ON MY FACE AGAIN AND DO A LOT OF LAUGHING WHICH OF CAUSE IS THE BEST MEDICINE....IT WILL BE GREAT TO HEAR HOW YOU LOVELY PEOPLE ARE ....LOOK FOWARD TO CHATTING AGAIN ...AILSA X X

    Hello Ailsa

    So sorry you are still in a lot of pain and still waiting for your referral. But how lovely that you have found your new man and that he is so understanding and supportive. I am very lucky in that my OH is the same and, for me, having that support makes the world of difference to me in terms of coping with this wretched arthritis. I am sure you will find the same. And laughter, lots of it, can only be a good thing. :D

    I do hope that your appt comes through soon.
