Hello all, hope the cold isn't affecting your joints too much.

I was wondering if anyone else has widespread tendonitis. It's particularly affecting my hands, wrists and elbows. My rheumy says it's because I have lots of inflammation in my body. Does anyone else have this? Is it related to arthritis?

Well, I'd better go. I have to leave for college in 10 mins! x

    Hi Princess

I think it could well be connected in a way.

Some arthritis' are connective tissue disorders so it would make sense as tendons are just that aren't they?

Others on here have c/o tendonitis. Are you getting any treatment?

    Love

Tendinitis was my first arthur symptom and I remember asking how come if I had arthritis I was getting pain in places other than the joints as the tendons were much more painful. It all falls under the heading of arthropathies. Useful eh? But yes, it is sadly part of inflammatory conditions including arthur. I actually find the tendon part more painful than the joints and I frequently tear the tendons by soldiering on. If there is a tendon that is a particular problem they can target it with x-ray guided steroids injections. They hurt like hell for a few days but I did find some benefit for upto 3 months afterwards. I hope this helps.

Hi Princess, I have just been told by pain clinic that i have severe tendonitis too.
I also have OA & Fibromyalgia plus a few other conditions.
I have tendonitis in my feet, wrists, hands, shoulders & elbows. Hurts like hell. It affects my walking terribly.
I was told at first with my feet it was Plantar Fasciitis & it would clear up in 12 to 18 months, pain clinic says no it wont as it Tendonitis.
It inflames all the tendons & best way to help it is with anti inflammatories. I have Diclofenacs for this but ibuprofen will help too. (not to be taken together i must add)
Sorry your suffering & i hope you get some relief soon.

I've just been dxd with this, too..............I can't take anti-inflams, so am relying on painkillers to see me through. Just wish my feet would make up their minds whether they are hot or cold.............the pain they give me is indescribable.......a sort of burning icy feeling.........

    Hi Princess

So sorry to hear about your tendonitis - to have it in so many joints must be horrendous..

I have achilles tendonitis in my right achilles tendon when I am having a flare up of my RA in my ankles.. it then sets off plantar fasciitis under my right heel. It's all to do with 'inflammation' .. I can see by reading your message, and others, that I 'm fortunate that I don't get it anywhere else..

I hope you can get sorted out soon..

Thank you for the replies. xx I'm sorry other people are suffering too but on the other hand, it's good to know I'm not alone.

I was having physio but it's finished now and I take painkillers and anti-inflammatories. I find ibuprofen gel really good and ice packs but now right now, too cold!!

I'm on MTX but I have no idea if would help the inflammation in my tendons? It's actually more painful than my joint pain.

Right, I'm off to lie down. I seem to have picked up the charming sick bug that's doing the rounds! :?
