Oh Del
Dont you sometimes feel has though you have to do battle to get the right meds, I have OA so I can only imagine what you are going through, I do hope you get your shoulder sorted soon, I did have the injections along time ago, and they really worked,They have offered acupuncture for my back, but I am not sure how effective it is.
Good Luck

    Hi del :D

Why don't rheummys and GPs speak the same language? Isn't it just as well you have excellent communication skills and could translate what was required? :?
It's 'deflating' to have one excellent appointment, only to be followed by a frustrating one.

I hope the new 'tears' help Del and that physio can help with the shoulder.

What about the sleep problems, everlasting fatigue :| Has the rheummy recommended any meds that might help?
Can't remember you saying you were on anything, sorry  but me and lots of others here on the foum are prescribed amatriptyline which does help a bit. Worth asking about? or am I 'teaching granny to suck eggs'.
hope things improve for you soon

    Hi del

    glad theconsultant app went well

Hope the tears work and relieve that gritty feeling you probably get. I get that from time to time but dont put any drops in.

Good luck with the physio hope that helps your shoulders.

    HI Del

mixed results from your two visits then?

I recently started using the fake tears ..... though my optician gave me 'sno tears' which my GP has added to my repeat list.
she did mention that there are lots of different types of tears products, and that if I found that these didn't suit, then I could try something else. I find these sting a bit at first, but only for a few mins.

SO ..... I'd be interested to know how you find yours .... mine I am supposed to use 4 times a day. I must admit that I don't always do all 4 doses, but find that I need them first thing in the morning and especially when I am on the computer/watching tv etc.

As for the move to the new hospital ..... wow! My MIL has a GP surgery that has gone all 21st Century, but forgot to cater for those in wheelchairs who can't see to read/touch/enter the necessary details on the electronic screens!  Hope yours doesn't have that kind of problem .... and isn't as bad as you fear.

we get a new hospital soon ...... they started ripping up the green field site a few weeks ago :( once they had re-homed the great crested newts they found there  :x :x

    take care

    Hi Del,

I know I am late... old pc (I blew the real one up for a min) and rubbish connections makes me later even if the eyes don't

Tis good you were able to talk to your rumo and I really hope you can find a way to get that shoulder better.... Look i really can recommend the jab Del.... been having them a long time now and they do help. Its the local that does it I think but don't be put off them.....Anyway it's the only thing that shuts mine up even for a few days! Fingers crossed you can shut the shoulder down. Cris xx

hey sometimes it can help Del - worth a try maybe?

also in our area Physios can do accupuncture too - or recommend it if they feel it is the best option, so you may be one step nearer

    good luck!
