I give up!

Ok I give up! Today is officially against me.
Had to pick my son up from nursery as it closed early due to the weather. Started the engine, but could I get the car to move, wheels spinning slipping and sliding but no meaningful movement. Oh great I'll have to dig it out, but wait wheres the spade .... Oh in my husbands car at his work. So I had to improvise with a hand trowel.... I now ache all over but I had no choice.
Drove to nursery without incident until the last turning on the completely untreated estate roads, I turned the wheel left, the car went straight on! Straight into a 5 ft high snow drift, thankfully I'd kept the trowel with me.
Then abandoned the car in a relatively safe place trudged the last bit to nursery. Couldn't get in because the fingerprint reader won't read cold fingers.
Finally got him, then persuaded a very reluctant toddler that I couldn't carry him all the way back to the car (I do feel sorry for him as the snow is up to the top of his wellys)
Got home, just got him inside as I hear a crash and get smacked on the head with more snow coming off the roof, this time taking the gutter with it, thankfully I only got hit with snow as the gutter landed on the bay window.
Then get a letter delivered which is only full of bad and upsetting news
And to cap it all off I managed to grate my finger whist doing my sons dinner
Right i've had it for today.... Going to pour myself a big drink and contemplate not getting out of bed tomorrow
Chrissie
(mind you following all that digging it may not be a choice I get to make myself I suspect the joints might revolt by morning)

Oh dear Chrissie, what a bad day you've had :x Sometimes things seem to combine against you like this, but I'm glad that you got home safely with your son. Better luck tomorrow :!:

OH Chrissy
somehow saying sorry about your bad day doesn't seem enough .... but (unusually for me  ) I'm lost for more appropriate words.
sending you hugs and hoping that tomorrow will not have you suffering from too much payback, and will be altogether kinder to you.
Hugs ((((()))))))

Let's hope that today is much, much better for you. Why does the cardiologist have the shovel? He is a) a bloke and b) fit, so, in theory, he should/could be able to get himself out of a 'hole' (you know what I mean, I know snow drifts etc are not holes). Apparently cat litter is good for providing traction when stuck, so get a bag of that for the back of your car - easier to sprinkle with a jug or somesuch than trying to dig your way out with a trowel. And sabotage the shovel while the cardiologist isn't looking - it's about time his deep-seated, smug serenity with life was mightily disturbed. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
