Hello,
I've been prescribed Tramadol. I'm also on amytriptilline. Is it ok to take both? Hope so cos I've already done it
Anyone else on these 2 meds?
Thanks,
Magenta x

Hi Magenta, if your doctor has prescribed them both then hopefully they will have known what they were doing, I am on tramadol but not amitryptaline so can't really say..
    Hope so though, lol..
I am sure that someone will come along and give you a definate answer.

    Hi Eileen,

Hope your warm and staying safe i that horrible weather you up there have had?

There are a few people here that take both flower.... I am sure they will come ell you if its best to stagger them or ok to take them in the same hit... I don't know that one as they mention the amitriptyline from time to time but as yet I haven't been on them a the pregabalin help a fair bit so I don't think I need them. I am on tramadol and they always talk about it a an add in not replacement.

Sending y some warming air and a ((( ))) as well as a hope the thaw comes in soon. Love Cris xxx

What dosage and form of tramadol? It does come in varying strengths, I have two sorts available for use as and when. I don't take the amytryp, but if I have a combo of meds I am not sure of I a) read the leaflet in the box (that was how I found out I should not be on naproxen but hey-ho, I am, I guess 'they' know what they are doing) and b) talk to the pharmacist. They are a very knowledgeable bunch of people. I wish you well with the two of them and I hope they bring relief. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Eileen :D

lots of good advice about these meds already. I've been taking both for a number of years but always separate the times I take them by a couple of hours. The amatriptyline I take no later than 8pm otherwise it makes me heavy headed in the morning!

I'm guessing if you took both late last night then you may well still be asleep.

...so Toni... you might have to shout a bit louder.

    Hi
Like Iris says, its best to leave some time between them, I found when they raised my Amitriptyline I could do without the tramadol at night.
    Hope this helps a little

    Thanks everyone,
I actually didn't get a good sleep last night, think I was worrying too much about having taken them both. I had been put on Indometacin with Tramadol to use for top up pain relief. Unfortunately I got indigestion with 1 cap of Indo and my GP advised me to stop taking them. He's told me to take Tramadol three times a day, regularly. Initially 50mg three times but can increase to 100mg if needed. I think the tramadol is making me itchy-is that common?
    I'll keep going with them,
    Thanks,
    Magenta xxx
PS Cris-the weather is awful x:( 5hr car journey home only to have to abandon my car and walk with wee Daniel for 30mins in 2ft snow uphill on a dual carriageway. All my family are still in different parts of Glasgow just now-nightmare! Hope you're ok weatherwise xx
