There are plenty of protest marches for the students, and rightly so, but I don't see too many for disabled people who are about to ahve their benefits cut.......... why?.
Disabled people are an easy target, and unless there is some kind of " peoples protest ", nobody is gonna look out for them are they. It's all a bit strange to me. Alanthemanc

Like you say we are an easy target, I find it hard to walk, but I would certainly go on a march....I have been on quite a few...even went to num 10 once...wasn't classed has disabled then.

Yeh, I can't get my head around this. I'm not sure that people realise the situation, but it may well be too late. Until people get the letter through the letter box, maybe they are thinking " well it won't affect me, will it ", they could be in for a nasty surprise.
This could be the year from hell, and nobody seems that bothered about it. Alanthemanc0 -

There was actually a rally in Birmingham but as it was peaceful it didn't get anything like the general press the students have been getting
Controversy gets column inches i'm afraid

who is paying for the policing?
Certainly not the blooming students, they don't pay any poll tax.. With you on this one Rehab.. Having lived in a very heavily student populated area for many years I see them as a bloody nuiscance to be honest.. Not saying they're all the same but from experience, thousands are! The damage they cause on a nightly basis while drunk is disgusting.. Not a fan..

Send a poem. Done it. It works.
This way you can say what you like as it comes under artistic licence!!
I sent one to Tony Blair with copies everywhere i.e. newspapers, radio stations, MP's etc.
It was long and funny in parts but did the trick.
It was about GMO food.
One verse became popular regarding a penguin at London Zoo that had a nervous breakdown 'cos he thought he was a chocolate biscuit.
Sent it signed Anon, from Lilliput.

Perhaps the reason is pure and simply if we march/hobble/limp/wheel (choose most appropriate) in a protest this government will say we are fit for work and take our benefits off us.0

Thats a bit defeatist surely?
If you don't do anything now except moan then what do you leave for your children and grandchildren?, but having said that if I ever win the lottery big time then you won't see me or mine for dust.[/quote]
Surely theorectically winning the lottery and emigrating wherever leaving us lesser mortals to it is also defeatist0
