gosh - that's quite a decision you have to make, but as berty says once you've had the scan you may have more info on which to base your decision.

three months will pass fairly quickly, and if you will have time to plan before the op, we will help you find ways to adapt and be able to cope I am sure

    good luck

    Hello Joan
Like the others have said, have the scan done and talk it over with the consultant, I suppose it depends on how much pain you are in, and will the op make a difference to it.
We will be with you all the way.
You let us know when your scan is wont you.

Well, that horse has caused some damage, hasn't he? Heavy things, horses. Ooooooh dachshund, what a poser. I think you should have the scan, that should show the amount and scope of the damage, then see what the surgeon says. Three months is a very long time to be out of commission but if they can take away the pain - eventually - then that has to be a good thing. Only you can decide tho - draw up a list of the pros and cons, and base your decision on that. I guess, however, you have some time to wait before that time comes. I hope you are not feeling too tired now - hospital visits can drain one! Sleep well tonight. DD

That's not the point: sometimes people cannot judge what is the right thing for them, simply because they are not doctors or surgeons. You need to get yourself fixed - that horse has a lot to answer for! - plus you have other difficulties too. You need to have done what is right for you, how others are affected with whatever they have is immaterial. I wish you well, and yes, let us know when you are having the scan - need us to come along?
