Hello everyone

Some of you may know, the Rituximab infusion that I started in August has not worked. I saw Consultant on 28th October who told me this. So I went to see the biologics Nurse yesterday. After my DAS score which is 6.86 last month and even worse this month, we have decided to start a new one called Cimzia. It is a fortnightly injection done at home and I hope to start it before Christmas.

Does anyone have any experience of Cimzia? I know that it can be very good for longstanding RA (16 years now for me). I think this could be plan K now for me!

Thanks for your help everyone and have a pain free day if at all possible!

Janie xx x:))

Thanks everyone. I'm also having bloods done to check things out as well. Because the nurse said depending on those, it might be better to start another one instead, Tociz something. But Cimzia is the one I will probably be having. Not sure what she means but I have faith in her. She is a very experienced nurse.

    Hi Janie
Im on cimzia at the mo and it has improved things a bit but not loads I still ahve alot of bad days so all in all a fail but I have failed on 3 other biologics before. Im sero- which is why cimzia was expected to work as it was originally for other sero- conditions. I know alot of others who it has given a new lease of life to so good luck to you xx

    Thank you Iris

I'm getting a bit despondant with it all, I suppose as I've tried a few and they havent' worked... How are you? I hope the Consultant gets you sorted soon and reads your letter.

The positive with Cimzia is you do 3 loading does to get it going quicker, 2 doses every 2 weeks for 3 weeks then 1 dose fortnightly after that.

I will update when I get my delivery

    Janie xx :)
