Did anyone else hear the report on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme about research taking place in Scotland on starfish. Apparently, there is something in starfish that the experts think might be useful in the treatment of arthur. Researchers are currently looking into it. The hope is that at some stage there will be a treatment that doesn't have the side effects of so many of the currently available treatments.

Clearly a long way to go: there will have to be lab tests no doubt and probably then a blind testing. But still, it is good news that researchers are looking into these things.

Best wishes,
Kevin.

    Hello Kevin

I didn't hear the report but it does sound really interesting and I will go onto the Iplayer and have a listen. As you say it is really good to know that there is lots of research going on out there - gives us hope doesn't it?

Hi, Yes I did, it was only a short bit, as today always is, but interesting. It looks as if the starfish is coated in something that is being researched to help RA, I think, sorry not much use but half asleep and didn't take a lot of notice until the story was nearly over! Not good in the morning!!!

I'll see if the New Scientist has anything in it, we have that, or maybe if you have a look at the BBC radio 4 web site it'd be their.
    Love Sue
