Hello Bertyboy.
I'm sorry that you are still no wiser but it is good that the consultant does realise that things aren't as they should be and is looking into things further. I'm sorry that I can't answer your question about knee cap replacement. I do hope you don't have to wait too long for your second opinion.

Hi BB
I hope they manage to sort things out for you soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed that things work out for the best.

Hi Berty
I really do feel for you, when you have had an big op you just want to see a difference in your pain, and feel it was all worth it.
At least your consultant is is getting a second opinion.
Hopefully very soon things will be rectified, and it will have all been worth it.
Good Luck

Oh bertyboy, how frustrating for you. At least he is going to try to find out - I know that these things are risky and that they don't always work as well as they should, but it would be good to find out why. I hope an answer does come sooner rather than later. I am so sorry. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Berty,
Think I've had same as you. I had my TKR in June 2008 and for first few day it appeared great but did not improve. At clinic was told it can take 3;6;12 months etc to settle. Last June (2yrs) asked for scan as I was still not happy. The consultant has said that it could be a problem with kneecap as he does not replace that as prosthetic cap is not as good as your own. Now after scan he says prosthesis may be broken and I'm now waiting for arthroscopy to see what is wrong. There just does not seem to be any urgency on the part of the surgeon to find the problem and solve it. Will have to chase them up yet again next week. Hope you get good result soon.
