some of you may be aware I ahd a TWR on 2nd Nov well yesterday I saw the DR that operated on me and he was so impressed that I will probably not be needing physio, apart formt eh wound still not healed completley although its doing well, he tried all sorts of hand movements, so I said tentivley will this be the last appointment then,? oh no we will be keeping a very close eye on your progress and make sure it lasts as long as possible so loooks like I will be crossing over to Southampton for quite a few months/years yet, as its a relatively new op approx 98% have never heard of it at least I know I will be taken great care of, the other Dr who did my wonderful stitches also said they were very worried about me awwwwwwwwww, when I had the wound play up, she was in the surgery which I did not know but she is lovely, got to go back to see him again on 23rd Dec , so am happy being well looked after, got to keep on wearing the splint though to help the wound heal, x:))

Oh lavenderlady, that is good news. I am pleased for you and I hope that wound heals sooner rather than later. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi lavenderlady x:)
Great to hear your update on how well you are doing despite the wound infection/ healing setback.
I'm so pleased for you that you've got a good range of movement this soon post op...no wonder your surgeon's pleased with your progress. You've been an absolute star :!:
The follow up I've been told for TWR is at least two years so you'll be well known in the ortho out patients' by then. x
It's an amazing op to have had done and it's hard to believe, when you look at the neatly sculpted wrist, the 'hardware' that lies hidden beneath!
Good luck with the rest of your recovery and rehab...and please let us know how you are and when the wound finally heals.

Hi Lavenderlady, That is great news about the range of movement you have achieved in your new wrist and in such a short space of time. You must be delighted. Hope the wound heals quickly, so that you can feel the full benefit of the op. Great that the follow up is so good, even though it means frequent trips across the water.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0
