Just had my annual flu jab yesterday and got a sore arm today, Just wanted to ask if anyone here has had any bad side effects from it and if so what did you experience.

The reason I ask is that I was told that this years jab includes the swine flue (H1N1) vaccine.

Hope you are all keeping well in this cold weather, Thanks.

    Hello

Just to say yes, every year I have a sore arm where the needle goes in and it lasts for about a week. Annoying when trying to lay on it when going to sleep.

    Hi Justin

My husband had the flu jab a couple of weeks ago and he had a sore arm. At the time I was down with a cold/cough etc and last week he got what I had. He's recovering a lot quicker than I did! I'm on my second week of this cold/cough. He gets the jab because he has eczema and is on some heavy duty meds. I'm going to have to wait until I'm in my 60s before they give me one!!

I hope you're feeling ok now.

Just found out that Tesco and Asda are offering the flu vaccine for £8. I have the sore arm which I get every year.

Least there doesn't seem to be any nasty side effects with this one.

I've had a flu jab for years now and never had any reaction of any sort to it. I hope your arm feels better soon. DD

I was a bit achey and had a cold for around 5 days. My eldest daughter had a bad cold recently, and for the first time since starting Dmards, I didn't catch it! That alone makes the jab worthwhile for me!

Yes, I had flu jab and pneumacoccle (sp?) and had side effects for the first time. Both injection sites swelled and were sore and I also had a mini flare that lasted a few weeks. x:roll:

Will have the jab again next year though it hasn't put me off 8)

    Hello Justin and all

About 4 days after my flu vaccine this year I developed a sudden fever, severe nausea and felt extremely unwell. It lasted only a matter of hours but was most unpleasant at the time. It may not have been to do with the flu vaccine (to be fair I had just started new meds and had messed up my steroid dose big-time) but I'm not convinced the flu vaccine wasn't involved somewhere!

Hope you don't get any side effects other than the sore arm Justin.

My GP said that developing a cold after the jab was good as it showed your body recognised the vaccine, and that you would definitely be resistent to certain strains of flu as a result.

As I came down with a cold the day after my jab, I am very happy with that explanation.....whether it's true or not.....?

well its now 2 days since I had mine and so far nothing even the sore arm is going. I know there were some nasty rumours going around about this years jab. The media always seem to want to scare people for some reason.

Glad you are still feeling ok!

In terms of the media scare stories - I guess they have to have something to write about don't they x:roll:

Hope you continue to stay well in terms of flu-jab side effects.

    Hi Justin,

I had my first ever Flu Jab about a month ago and I was lucky and had no problems whatsoever. Mind you I had my bloods taken at the same time so I hardly noticed.

Glad you have no side effects either.

hope you're arm is feeling better now..

I can't believe that when I went for my asthma check up having only been diagnosed in the last yr, i was given the flu jab.
I had no side effects after the jab, but low and behold for the 1st time ever in my life, I've just had 4 wks off work with FLU!!!

The flu jab is no guarantee one won't catch it - you may have had a dose of one that wasn't catered for in the mix. I hope you are feeling better now, tho. DD

Hi, Have had flu jabs for years without any side effects,
last year had seasonal flu jab, then couple weeks later pneumonia jab without side effects, then the swine flu jab which gave me a bit of a sore arm the next day but no other side effects. This year had the combined swine flu/seasonal flu without side effects.

Wow, many thanks to all of you responding...

I'm planning on taking my meth a day early (tommorrow) and getting jab on Monday ...

I'm on a new diet too... Called the paleo diet (caveman) no grains (so pasta, rice, oats, bread, etc etc,) potatoes or dairy...
I'm sure it eased it somewhat. Been a week on it now...
