Hi there, well in all honestly,I would love a real one. However I bought a ReaL ONE a few years ago, cost a fortune, really looked after it,followed instructions, looked up all info, planted it in garden after, and it still died.I felt terrible.A tree is a living thing which we should respect.I think these trees start to die the minute they are dug up,strung up,and put up for sale.Would never do that again Mirabella0

Hi Alan,
Artificial for me.
It's kinder to my hands when hanging the decorations. Real ones scratch, lose their needles and just die slowly - leave them in the forests for all to see their living beauty IMO. )
Happy Christmas :greenLove, Legs x

Hi Alan
Have to say real tree every time! Just for the sheer craic! I sent my three lads out (aged 12 - 16) with oh to get our this year with SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS 3-4ft max...they returned with "a bargain Mum, you'll love it!" 8.5th!!! It was wedged in the hall for 2 days until I finally located the axe and Dad cut a load of the top to get it in. It smells lovely I have to admit and for the enjoyment factor alone it's worth having the real tree. HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL Poppy X'grá agus solas'

We've had artificial ones for last few yrs, I do love real ones though, smell great but the cats end up trying to climb them, like on the post of Joan's, Simon's cat? Lol
Then as many have said, there are the needles all over the place, they still turn up sticking in your bare feet in the summer, no matter how well you vac up! Haha

At a previous house, I planted a small Christmas tree in the front garden after Christmas, expecting it to die as others had. Then we moved house and forgot about it. About ten years later, I returned to visit someone on the road, and there in the garden of our old house was the tree which had grown to a great height and was completely blocking the front window. I couldn't believe that the people had allowed it to grow so tall.
I like real trees, but the artificial ones are easier to cope with, and they are very realistic these days.0 -
Real ones exacerbated my asthma so it's been artificial all the way for yours truly. My latest one is 6' and pre-lit, which has saved a deal of work. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Alan
We used to get a real one, but the getting rid of it after, and the price they are charging, made our minds up to get an artificial one, it is lovely and so realistic.
Got it in the sale at B&..you can get the spray that give you the smell of a real one.

Is it true they charge £1 per foot, bit pricey, but they do look good. Alanthemanc0 -
The children are putting up a real tree right now. The children are so happy decorating it so I will go downstairs to observe when they have finished.
I haven't forgiven the OH for not getting any tree a few years back(I was too ill to sort for myself) so now he buys one without fail,
I hope they don't break any ornaments!
